Hello, GWULindsey, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Pantalone, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. I'm very sorry to say that most of what was just restored was plagiarized from Peter Jordan's article. It should not have been restored. It is Jordan's original research but for an academic piece and not this wiki article.GWULindsey (talk) 22:19, 25 April 2020 (UTC)GWULindsey[reply]

  • @Materialscientist: - can you elaborate on this? I know that GWULindsey had concerns over the reliability of John Rudlin's Commedia dell'Arte.
GWULindsey, it looks like part of the concern would be over sentences like this:
This is another possible historical origin for the character as actors might have played to this real life situation to play Pantalone.
This was unsourced and comes across as us making our own judgement based on sourcing, even if it didn't explicitly state this. Any interpretations should be attributed to the person making them. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:22, 27 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
