Perhaps you would like to start here: the page on alcohol. You might want to expand the section on reactions - oxidation. Do note that this page is meant to be an overview, rather than being an exhaustive list of techniques. You might want to include links to other pages from there and expand those pages as well. You can also drop by Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Chemistry and drop a note to say hi, and introduce yourself. Thanks for the edits to the alcohol page. That's a very nice overview of alcohol oxidations - one might almost think you'd just written a book on the subject! :) I did a few copyedits - click to see what). A few quick guidelines to help you:

To add bullets use * on the left (as I'm doing here, actually, though here there is an extra colon to indent).
Only make wikilinks once in each section.
When linking plural forms, write [[aldehyde]]s not [[aldehydes]].
When naming articles, only use capitals for the first word and where it is absolutely necessary (so we would have Oxidation of alcohols to aldehydes and ketones, Collins reagent or Ethyl acetate, but American Chemical Society, Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction).

For our chemistry-specific guidelines, see style guidelines and drawing guidelines. Other than a few minor things, you seem to be editing like a seasoned Wikipedian! Hello, Martin Thank you for your help. I am using the ACS guidelines with Chemdraw, which I think that is acceptable. I will begin an article on "Oxidation of Primary Alcohols to Carboxylic Acids," as soon as time allows. Is it possible to configure the systems to receive e-mails to track messages? Gabriel Tojo

The structures or reaction schemes are uploaded as images - usually (preferably) in png format. There are detailed instructions here. You cannot modify existing structures as-is; you CAN create new images and upload them on top of existing images (for example, corrections), or as totally new images.

Do note that there are currently some discussions regarding the style guidelines here.

As for drawing images — it might actually be easiest to get one of your students to show you in person, than for anyone to describe it to you in text!
