Unspecified source for Image:1840_house.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:1840_house.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:07, 4 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 12:07, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure why this article keeps being reverted...

[edit]

Not sure why this article keeps being reverted (by CJ...?) as it provides are far more detailed and balanced interpretation of its subject and is the work of the property museum curator Gary Crockett, based on over 8 years of research.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Garycrockett (talkcontribs) 16:16, 10 July 2007.

Hi Gary. Welcome to Wikipedia! The content you are inserting into the article comes, at least in part, from the Historic Houses Trust website. The copyright notice for that site states, "The content of this website (including, but not limited to, images and text) is © Historic Houses Trust of NSW, unless otherwise stated," and it does not state otherwise on the pages in question. Content used in Wikipedia articles must be licensed appropriately. See Wikipedia:Copyrights for more information. - Borofkin 10:06, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Um, note that I don't pretend to be an expert on this. If you are indeed the author of the content on the HHT site, then there is probably no problem posting it into the article. It would probably help for you to post a comment on the article talk page stating that you are the author of the content. - Borofkin 10:40, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the note - I am new to this as you can see. I am intrigued and impressed by the level of scrutiny postings receive...tell me how do you monitor recent uploads? And yes, I am the author or much of the (interpretive) content related to Elizabeth Farm, being, as my userpage now indicates, the property Curator under the employment of the Historic Houses Trust. Hopefully there will be no problem with reverting the article which will soon receive a much needed edit for clarity and accessibility.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Garycrockett (talkcontribs) 16:15, 19 July 2007.

Hi Gary. Firstly, please sign your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking the signature button located in the toolbar above the edit window. This helps us keep track of who said what, and when.
It's great that you wish to donate your work to Wikipedia. However, there do remain some issues. One of these is whether you actually hold copyright over the text, or whether this has been assigned to the publisher (the Trust), as is indicated by the website. The other is the desirability of what you've posted. It is wonderfully comprehensive, but it is quite dense and not formatted according to our style. See here for some suggestions. Thanks,--cj | talk 02:15, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Triton 24 Yacht, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --== Waycool27 ==-- 10:45, 20 August 2007 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Triton logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Triton logo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:08, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
