Dungarvan

[edit]

If the present Viscount Dungarvan is not yet an Earl of Cork, one might reasonably prefer that you refrain from adding him to the list of Earls; or at least that he be indented another notch, like earlier heirs-apparent who did not survive their fathers. (Oh, wait, you deleted those.)

That aside, if you have a problem with the fact that several other editors disagree with your changes, you'll get further by starting a debate at Talk:Earl of Cork than by repeating the changes endlessly (which can get you automatically banned for a day; see WP:3RR) or by bullying one of them about "terms of use" as if you owned the article. —Tamfang (talk) 01:36, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

The changes you have been making to Earl of Cork do not have consensus and are not backed by external evidence. Unless you can substantiate your position that "Scott Michael Boyle" exists by reference to reliable sources rather than by assertion, you will be blocked for persistent vandalism. April 2011

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Earl of Cork. Users are expected to collaborate with others and avoid editing disruptively.

In particular, the three-revert rule states that:

  1. Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Favonian (talk) 10:04, 3 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
