Information icon Hello, Gmontana. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. 2601:188:180:B8E0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 04:15, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:Gregory Montanaro, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. CUPIDICAE💕 13:55, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted it. Sorry, but there is no way in which this was not straight-up promotion. Drmies (talk) 23:44, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You’re cancelling history[edit]

Clearly you have the ability to make that call and are no longer debating the factual content or citations, but rather that you think it’s promotional. So I guess you are taking a view that if history reflects well on some, then it should be cancelled based on some arbitrary scale not related to the relative value of that history or the biographical significance within the context of sociological encyclopedic account of a geopolitical area, such as Philadelphia. There are any number of significant contributions in that biography that add to the historical account of Philadelphia and beyond, including appointment by a federal President of a nation as their representative, plus receiving an award, leading one of the most prominent social institutions in the region through a pivotal time of growth that drew national attention, the creation of various transformative life changing community initiatives. But you are determining that these are stories worth not telling, and rather erasing. These are the real living biographies of real people who have done real things. Not just “promotion” as you so casually dismiss a lifetime of devotion to mission. Gmontana (talk) 23:58, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You've completely missed the point of Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and articles are supported by independent reliable sources, it isn't a place to publish your lifes work, mission or whatever else you're doing. Also stop with the stupid right-wing "cancel culture" narrative. It isn't real. CUPIDICAE💕 00:09, 4 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
