There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. —DoRD (talk) 11:22, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Requested username:

Request reason:

I misinterpreted the rules and tried to change my username, but it would not allow me to. Then my account was blocked. I have no intent of advertising my businesses, which is why I'd like the name changed. I am knowledgable about present and past candidates in Florida, and would like to contribute. My edits have all been sourced. I am from Tallahassee and very knowledgable about past and present candidates in Florida. I would just like the ability to contribute when needed. I source my edits and strongly believe there was no wrongdoing.

Decline reason:

I have changed your username from Ellocreative, which resolves that issue. However, it is concerning that you don't feel that your have done anything wrong. You did declare a COI(I fixed the formatting for you) but you did not declare as a paid editor per the paid editing policy; this is a Wikipedia Terms of Use requirement and not negotiable. You should reread the conflict of interest policy and learn how one conducts themselves when they have a COI(this plain language guide may help). You won't be unblocked to edit about your clients or related fields; if you want to edit about other subjects, please tell what those might be in a new request, I am declining this one. 331dot (talk) 18:27, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I had no concern about you advertising your business when I blocked your account. I did, however, see that the Ello Creative website (ellocreative.com) lists Ron DeSantis as a "featured client", and that you have edited both his and his wife's articles. Is Jay Fant another one of your clients? —DoRD (talk) 18:42, 24 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

DoRD thankfully it was relatively easy this time to trace these subterfuge accounts to the consultancy firm, due to its newbie mistakes and carelessness. However what happens next when the firm creates more accounts, perhaps one per client, and edits their pages, without declaring conflicts of interest or having any easy trace back to the firm? How can this be detected? NeutralityEnforcer (talk) 07:50, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry
