Welcome[edit]

Hi Graciray, and Welcome to Wikipedia!

My name is Λua∫Wise and I have been on Wikipedia for sometime now. I have been wandering around when I saw your name and decided to drop by to see if you need help with Wikipedia. I have also attached this list of some links that might help you:

You should also note that you have to sign your comments by using four of those ~ at the end of your messages (i.e. ~~~~, this will simply place your user name and date; see my signature at the end of this message as an example.)
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have a question or require help with Wikipedia, you can leave me a new message here.
P.S. Some new users find editing Wikipedia a bit difficult at first, but it only seems this way. In fact it is quite easy to get used to editing it and actually finding that enjoyable ! :)
Good luck! :)

Image copyright problem with Image:Ciea.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Ciea.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:16, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Papascole.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Papascole.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -MBK004 22:24, 20 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Papagayo1.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Papagayo1.jpg is a duplicate of an already existing article, category or image.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Image:Papagayo1.jpg, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 22:31, 20 February 2008 (UTC)

Re;[edit]

Hello, First of all, if you want to correct the copyright situation of an image, just go to that image and edit its page replacing the old tag with a new one. The second image which you uploaded was deleted. If you think that you might not be able to tag it correctly, please tell me what you want to tag it with, and its fair use rational and I will do that for you. Also, you might want to take a look at this. Cheers! Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 11:22, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Copyright[edit]

Hello!
I am sorry that you are having trouble with WP policies and guidelines. I hope you understand that the reason they are there is to avoid getting sued, simple!
As for the image, if you have permission form the college, you have to provide it, that means forwarding it to (permissions-en@wikimedia.org). By the way, si quiere hablar o escribir en Español conmigo, Yo puedo responder en Español.

Cheers!

Replaceable fair use Image:Arteavila.jpg[edit]

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Arteavila.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 10:52, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Ciealogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ciealogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 11:02, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:40, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Hola![edit]

Hola!

note[edit]

:) Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 13:29, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you still need help?[edit]

Hi there - this is Tracey from your class - let me know if you're still having issues with the images - from what I can see above you may have already got the help you need.

I'm just not sure where you're at with this and what is still missing. I'll look more closely at the history and see what's up.

Comment[edit]

I never said it was an ad....I just recited the WP policy in Spanish. I hope I did not make any mistake there...Who said it was an advertisement?? Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 20:19, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, you mean the tag...Well, rewrite the article, avoid weasel words, and then remove the tag. Do not forget to explain on the talk page why you removed the tag. Okay, I hope this helps. You did a great job on the article though!
Cheers!
Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 20:22, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Do not worry about it amigo, I will try to fix it for you in the coming days. I will then remove the tag.
Cheers! :)

No problem amigo! I might not have time today, but certainly tomorrow. By the way, to sign comment, usted/vos/tu debe utilizar 4 ~, (i.e. ~~~~).
Cheers mate!

Picts[edit]

No panic amigo! Once you get the email, do as I said before and upload the pictures once again, do not worry, this is not a big deal. Once you get the e-mail, forward it, re-upload the picture, mention these details in the description section, and your images will stay on Wikipedia (WP)... Again, Do not worry, you can upload them again! :) Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 11:17, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hola![edit]

Hola! If the pictures are licensed under (GFDL), or creative commons, just upload them and use the right tags, then add them to the article as usual. Also, do not forget to say that you have been given a permission and an e-mail was sent in the "description" field. You can also copy and paste "Nosotros, el Colegio Integral El Avila en Caracas-Venezuela, hemos dado a Graciela Ray el permiso para utilizar las fotos ciea.jpg, papascole.jpg, y arteavila.jpg que se encuetran cargadas en Wikipedia actualmente. Esperamos sea de mucho provecho su uso. Annabella Paván Colegio integral El Avila Caracas" in that same field.
Remember that Wikipedia does not accept images that are licensed for "non-commercial" use, licensed only to Wikipedia, for which permission is required for reuse, or that do not permit derivative works to be created.
I hope this helps!
Cheers!
Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 17:35, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If they sent her another e-mail asking for a license is because, and as I said before Wikipedia does not accept images that are licensed for "non-commercial" use, licensed only to Wikipedia, for which permission is required for reuse, or that do not permit derivative works to be created. I am afraid that it must be under one of these licenses. This is really a problem with Wikipedia; they do not allow non-free images unless one can provide a free-use rationale, which would be inapplicable in this case. Could you ask her to release the image under one of the before mentioned licenses? Λua∫Wise (Operibus anteire) 17:41, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
