User talk:Granpire Viking Man
Welcome
[edit]I hope you like this place — I sure do — and want to stay. Before getting too in-depth, you may want to read about the Five pillars of Wikipedia and simplified ruleset. If you need help on how to title new articles check out the naming conventions, and for help on formatting the pages visit the manual of style. If you need help look at Wikipedia:Help and the FAQ , plus if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions)! There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. And if you have any more questions after that, feel free to post them on my user talk page or place {{helpme}}
on your talk page and someone will be by to help you shortly.
Additional tips
[edit]Here's some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!
- If you want to play around with your new Wiki skills the Sandbox is for you.
- You can sign your name using three tildes (~). If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. Five will get you the datestamp only.
- You may want to add yourself to the new user log.
- If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the votes for deletion page. There is also a votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted.
- If you're still entirely confused, or would like to get a better grasp of your wikipedia skills, and you have an IRC client (or don't mind getting one), check out the Bootcamp. It's not what it sounds like, but it is fun and can help you with your editing skills.
- If you're bored and want to find something to do, try the Random page button in the sidebar, or check out the Open Task message in the Community Portal.
Happy Wiki-ing. —Kf4bdy talk contribs
PS: This is not a bot and you did nothing to prompt this message. This is just a friendly welcome by a fellow Wikipedian.
Help
[edit]{{helpme}} I would like to know about making boxes and all those kinds of advanced stuff !
- do you mean userboxes or tables? Brian | (Talk) 02:01, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
Both. Thanks--Granpire Viking Man 15:36, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:Userboxes and start reading --WalterHumala |wanna Talk? 04:19, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
{{helpme}} I would like to know how to look at other user's contributions.--Granpire Viking Man 20:05, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- The most guaranteed way is to go to either that user's userpage or their talk page. Then, the "toolbox" box on the left side of your screen should contain a new link called "User contributions". Click on that. Additionally, if you see a "contribs" link next to a user's name - like in a page's history or in their signature - you can usually click on that. —Wknight94 (talk) 20:15, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Take a look at Help:User contributions for more info. —Wknight94 (talk) 20:17, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- BTW, look at this page to see what <nowiki> is all about. —Wknight94 (talk) 20:38, 9 November 2006 (UTC)

{{helpme}} How do you revert ?
Thanks for all the help. I know who to ask now if I need advice. I'll need to fine-tune my formatting skills if i'm ever going to expand Shaded Red or any other article. Why were you following my steps so much though ?--Granpire Viking Man 21:05, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Your user talk page happens to be on my Watchlist (along with almost 700 other pages), which I check often. You'll find that happens a lot - certain people will send you a message and then keep you on their watchlist forever and always notice what gets said here. Eventually, they'll either get bored with it and take it off their watchlist or they'll just go through and clean up their watchlist - and then you'll never hear from them again! :) —Wknight94 (talk) 22:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
Shaded Red

[edit]Hey, what's up with editing User:TaeKwonTimmy? You may want to take a quick look through WP:USER and think about if it's appropriate to have a band web page living in the Wikipedia user page of an inactive user. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:24, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- (Non-NPOV article about non-notable band) + (inactive user's user page) = spam. That's unofficial but will probably be the formula at a WP:MFD very soon. —Wknight94 (talk) 01:40, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, if you like the band so much, why don't you take over that page. Your activity here is more than sufficient for my tastes. Anyone that is active here can have a user page depicting clubbing baby seals for all I care. That probably wouldn't go over well with others so keep that between you and me! ;) —Wknight94 (talk) 01:49, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
- Either one. Just don't overdo it. —Wknight94 (talk) 19:28, 9 November 2006 (UTC)
