Now that we've gotten past the welcome template... thanks for contributing Sebastes alutus! I'd like to prepare it for being featured on the Main Page as an example of an exemplary new article. But first, I have to ask you about its origins. It appears to be mostly copied from a NOAA document, and I can't figure out which. Now, don't get me wrong-- works produced by the U.S. Federal Government are in the public domain, and I'm not implying that you've done anything wrong. I'd just like to give credit to whatever sources deserve it. Well, thanks again, Melchoir 07:58, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to have the original author here is even better! (I prefer not to send email over Wikipedia, so I hope you don't mind if I reply here.) I'll work on wikifying the article now. I see there are plenty of inline references, like (Allen and Smith 1988); could you please add the full references to the bottom of the article? Don't worry about making them look fancy; I can take care of formatting. Melchoir 00:26, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and one other thing: so that we can put a caption on it, could you please specify where Image:Pop4.jpg was taken? And, if you know, what stage of life the specimen represents? Sorry if I'm bothering you. Melchoir 01:09, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I added a little more content about the fishery and the current status of the stock and the references. I also added a better caption on the photograph. It looks pretty cool after you "wikified" it! GreatDana 17:36, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thanks! Melchoir 21:17, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
