Welcome to Wikipedia. We invite everyone to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, one or more of the external links you added do not comply with our guidelines for external links and have been removed. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links; nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Since Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, external links do not alter search engine rankings. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page before reinserting it. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 23:27, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

What you were doing was changing an internal link to another Wikipedia article, in this case Ganoderma, to an external link as seen here. As to the value of either external link, well I will leave that up to the regular editors of the page to decide. If they want it or the other one out then so be it, but don't replace Wikilinks. And this, please try and remain civil. You have the right to insert the link in the external links sectin but other editors als have the right to remove them. Regarding the quality of the link, it is not appropriate for an external links section. It is unsourced and contains what appears to be original research: eg "It has the most active polysaccharides (long "chains" of sugars) among medicinal plant sources," or "a disease is believed to be the tip of an iceberg, the result of the underlying imbalance of the body which must be restored," or "Reishi is in the most highly rated herb category in terms of multiple benefit and absence of side effects." None of which have any citations. Besides, the site is there to sell the stuff - "Mikei Reishi Extract - Box of 60 Capsules $74.95" not appropriate. This is getting quite tedious...
