No references in header, please

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. As you will have noticed by now, editing WP is a steep learning curve. I recommend that you check out the links in the above message. Meanwhile, please stop putting references in the header (introductory paragraph) of articles. The header summarises the main text of the article. The extra detail and the citations go in the main text. That is WP's standard house style. (Occasionally references are temporarily inserted in the header when the article has been nominated to be linked on WP's main page, but that is normally done by the nominator.) Don't impose American date styles on a UK article. Don't guess that "nine years later" means 1994. It could be the year either side of 1994. Don't add reference urls that don't work: use the preview facility and check your links. So to avoid continued disruption to other editors, I suggest that you study the above links further, and look at how other editors have formatted their work in the better and newer articles.
