Welcome!

Hello, Harriet, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. You obviously have a great deal to contribute considering your professional position.

Please don't take my negative comments on your autobiographical article personally. You've done the right thing starting it in a user page, and nominating it for a move. But there are some other hurdles to jump as you're finding out.

I'd suggest setting up a minimal user page. Don't spend too much time on it initially, until you know more about the culture. But this will help build your credibility here.

But the main thing that we're after of course is contributions. There is much you could write about. Be particularly aware of WP:SOAP, WP:OR and WP:NPOV when writing about your passions.

On the other hand be bold. Nobody should expect you to have read and understood all our policies and guidelines before conributing. If they bite please let me know (see below).

Here are some other pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on discussion pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{helpme}} before the question.

Again, welcome! Andrewa (talk) 17:38, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Page Move

[edit]

I went ahead and closed the request for a page move. This didn't require RM, and as WP:RM is fully backlogged, I closed the discussion. You are free to move the page at any time that you are ready.
