[edit]Hello Ths 2024. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.
Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Ths 2024. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Ths 2024|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. DoubleGrazing (talk) 06:45, 7 August 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @DoubleGrazing,
- Are these not significant coverage of the school itself? They are all independent and reliable secondary sources.
- I'm trying to understand what other sources you need.

- Also this reference as well:

- Taking each of these sources in turn:
- The first SCMP article (via Finalsite) is about the collaboration with Ocean Park, not about the school per se. It also relies heavily on commentary by Blurton, so not independent.
- World-schools.com is a primary source, and that looks like a promo piece.
- The second SCMP one is sponsored by the school, aka. churnalism.
- The next one is about seaweed and seaweed farming, again not about the school per se.
- Another World-schools.com piece.
- I hadn't seen the Earth.org article before, but it's based on an interview (says so in the title) so not independent, and again about the seaweed project.
- To count towards notability, we need to see secondary sources with significant coverage about the school itself, and that coverage must be totally independent of the school, ie. not based on publicity materials, interviews, paid/sponsored content, advertorials, or routine business reporting (personnel appointments, opening of new locations or facilities, anniversaries, annual exam results, etc.). -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 09:18, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

- Hi @Johannes Maximilian,
- I have removed some of the "praising" phrases that you mentioned.
- You may not be aware of the education system in Hong Kong but it is important to say that THS follows an American curriculum and what basic classes are taught as many other international schools follow other curriculums (British, Canadian, Singapore, French etc). Furthermore, there are a number of schools in HK that do not teach English or use English as there main language for education. This is an important differentiation.
- "The e.a.r.t.h. project is expected to be completed in 2028." - This was referenced in several of the press releases by the Hong Kong government that were cited.
- "The high school follows an American based Carnegie credit system and students receive a U.S. high school diploma. The Advanced Placement program is also available for high school students." ○ "The average student-to-teacher ratio is 8:1." ○ "The school provides education for over 300 students representing more than 25 nationalities." - These facts are all on the school website. Yet I was told not to cite primary sources aka the school's website.
- The photo gallery is not a copyright infringement compilation as all photos shared are taken by myself for the organization. Furthermore, all parties shown have signed a release consent waiver before we share it with the public. (This is a common procedure in schools which you may not be aware of).
- THS is not using this page to promote the school but rather share factually accurate information about the school. The curriculum matters for the community to understand what type of school THS is. Sustainability matters to share what the ethos and values are at the school. The awards the building and school have won further support how the school's education system works, curriculum, and teachings.
- Many other international schools in Hong Kong have the exact same basic information on their Wikipedia pages as this page. Yet they don't seem to have been removed, flagged for editing, or are being held to the same standards as this page.
