Michigan Trunkline shields
[edit]You can delete the shield for M-554. It that highway's brief history, it was never signed with more than blade signs on the cross-streets by the city of Marquette.Imzadi1979 08:14, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
Can you upload a CONN M-125 shield graphic? The CONN 125 page has been infoboxed and needs it. Imzadi1979 08:55, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks for letting me know; I'm not entirely sure how I neglected to make that one. I fixed the link in your first message, too; you forgot the closing parenthesis. Thanks again! —IW4UTC 11:03, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

County-Designated Highways
[edit]Would you be willing to create shields for the various County Designated Highways? Maybe even a few other county roads like Marquette CR 480? Imzadi1979 23:21, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
- I think all of the CDHs out here have hyphens. The most complete list is linked above. Imzadi1979
- Thank you! The UP shields I've used already look great on the pages I've updated! Now some of the junction listings for UP pages look less like an orphan! If I get a photo of the Marquette CR 480 shield, could you make one of those for the M-553 page? Imzadi1979 02:29, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
- Ok, free free to shoot me. I just drove down from Negaunee to Cheboygan and now Traverse City, MI. All of the CDHs I saw are sans hyphen. *ducks* Imzadi1979 23:38, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- I will take a photo of Marquette CR 480 when I'm back home from the Lower Peninsula. Imzadi1979 23:49, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I have a quick request. I'm getting ready to start writing/infoboxing some of the CDH articles. I've set up all the subtemplates. The only thing that is missing is a generic version of the CDH shields for inclusion in the infobox. I've posted a version of the C-66 page with the infobox at User:Imzadi1979/Sandbox The template is ready to call , but that specific file doesn't yet exist. I have a blurry photo of the BGS along I-75 for Exit 301, C-58. On that sign, the shield does use the county name. On Chris Bessert's site, he used graphics with county name, but used the only county that contains it, etc.
I'm thinking we could have a generic version for the multi-county CDHs, and use the named version if it's a single-county CDH? Any ideas are appreciated. Imzadi1979 07:29, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
- One other idea I just thought about would be to manually encode using the
marker_image=
attribute of the {{infobox road}} template on each page, and let there be an editorial decision about which county gets used on each page. We'd still need a generic for the browse section of the box though. Imzadi1979 07:36, 15 November 2006 (UTC)- Well, I've been meaning to redo all the CDH shields, without the hyphens. I'll do a couple blazonless ones, as well. —IW4UTC 22:26, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Highway Naming Convention
[edit]Greetings. Please take a look at my comment here and provide input on whether or not this is a route I should pursue. Thanks! Stratosphere (U T) 04:01, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
M-40
[edit]Thanks for the heads up, I'll take a look when I get back to my GIS enabled computer on Tuesday. Stratosphere (U T) 04:09, 3 September 2006 (UTC)
M-Stuff
[edit]Cool. I'll put them on my list of maps to make. I probably won't get to them until the 14th when this naming crap finally solves itself. I'm just watching things right now to see if I want to hang around or not. Cheers Stratosphere (U T) 16:46, 5 September 2006 (UTC)
- Um, M-32 in Hillman....is it like an alley or something? Just as Chris Bessert's site says it's not on any public map I've seen...From what I read on his site it's just State St. in Hillman from the corner of Veterans Memorial (which is like a connector to 32?) and the northern "city" limits...although I can't exactly pinpoint where that'd be. Any information you can provide would be super. Your other requests have been fulfilled. Cheers. -- Stratosphere (U T) 02:22, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Makes sense. I already put the maps in the other pages. I'll work on M32BUS in the next day or two. Cheers. -- Stratosphere (U T) 04:10, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- BUS M-28 is shown incorrectly. In 1998, the western end was routed north on Lakeshore Dr. in the City of Ishpeming. Greenwood St. & North Lake Dr. were turned back, Of course maps.google.com has it wrong completely, as it never turned on Randall Dr. Can you update the map to show BUS M-28 turning up Lakeshore Dr.? Thanks, it looks good otherwise! :-) Imzadi1979 10:28, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yah I can. I'll be back to making maps next week when I get my ArcGIS installation back up and running. It's kind of surprising the GIS data was incorrect considering it was from 2005 :/ Oh well. -- Stratosphere (U T) 14:09, 19 September 2006 (UTC)
I-475 Exit List
[edit]Thanks for clearing up some data. I guess when I looked at the stacked page for the interchange I was a little too tired or something. As for the exit list I did not see the 7 on the state map but the Yahoo Maps does have the 7 listed M21. BTW thanks for clearing up some the of the exit names. I only went with what I could find. I tell ya that looking at the exit for 10 was just confusing. If you ever get a chance to see that exit in person tell me if it as confunsing as it appears on the satalite maps. --Mihsfbstadium 11:17, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I drive practically the entire length of I-475 rather frequently, so I know a fair bit about it. The whole highway's a little messed up, not just exit 10 (which is probably at least a quarter-mile north of Pierson Rd proper; northbound, you pass Pierson, exit, take a 45mph bridge over the freeway, and end up southbound back to Pierson).
- Exit 7's definitely there, and exit 5's definitely half-there. Still don't get that one, but oh well. —IW4UTC 14:58, 25 January 2007 (UTC)

Capitol Loop
[edit]Ok, I've loved your prowess drawing shields before. Can you do a new version of the Capitol Loop shield? The one posted is a gif that's not quite up to being used in the infobox on the page at the larger size. Imzadi1979 05:01, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

H-15
[edit]We're missing a CDH shield for H-15 in Alger County Can you make one and upload it to the Commons?--Imzadi1979 (talk) 21:42, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
Ok, second small request, maestro of shield graphics... Care to try your hand at making a FFH-13 shield? There are shields for Forest Routes for 3, 16 and 7, but not 13 which would be helpful for the M-28 page. --Imzadi1979 (talk) 22:26, 18 January 2008 (UTC)
- wow...shows how much I pay attention. I'll take a crack at these over the weekend. —IW4UTC 19:58, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
- No worries, I got them done a while ago. I figured out how to make them in Adobe Illustrator, so I went ahead and did them so that M-28 could pass GA and the USRD ACR Imzadi1979 (talk) 22:44, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

M-4
[edit]We've deprecated the "M-old" type in the infobox, browsers and {{jct}} in favor of "M 1919", "M 1926" and "M 1948" types which specify the various updates to the marker over the years. In cases where there have been two uses of the designation, like M-4, we've used the newest style marker that was used. Since the Northwestern Highway section of what is now M-10 was M-4 up until the 1980s, that would be the current style marker. The goal is to be historically accurate; the older cutout versions aren't used just to mean "former", like Chris Bessert does on his website. Imzadi 1979 → 21:09, 4 June 2012 (UTC)
