Thank you - I noticed some of the data I included was removed. I have re-added and cited the sources. The key issue was that while many sources say that Derby Works produced some of the locomotives, this is in fact not true and has been verified by the National Railway Museum which holds the locomotives' construction record cards; also confirmed by the RCTS definitive book on the class based on data held by the National Archive. I believe this error was perpetuated by the book by E S Cox (a member of the design team for the locomotives)'British Railways Standard Steam Locomotives' (Ian Allan, 1966) which includes a table showing the original build programme, referencing the locomotives to be built at Derby: however, none were built there. I also looked at many photographs of the locomotives supposedly built at Derby (76030-44; 70-74) where the builder's plate was readable and it is clear that they carry plates reading 'BUILT DONCASTER' and the year of construction IanHC (talk) 10:29, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I don’t doubt the accuracy of the information provided - however, it must be verified with reliable sources if it’s to be published on Wikipedia… if the NRM records can be referenced, then it’s fine. Danners430 (talk) 12:48, 28 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
