Thanks for uploading Image:Jojo01.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}. If you have not already done so, please also include the source of the image. In many cases this will be the website where you found it.

Please specify the copyright information and source on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:30, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Jojo01.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Jojo01.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:30, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jojo01.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 15:30, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Imager2006. I noticed you uploaded this image from another website and claimed that it was public domain when there is no such assertion on the website - indeed it is labelled 'All rights reserved'[1]. Unless an explanation is forthcoming this image will be deleted. Genuine mistakes aside, please note that deliberately or carelessly using the wrong licence information could result in loss of editing priveledges. You can leave the explanation on this page. -- zzuuzz (talk) 03:21, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed to show that it IS public domain. Imager2006 03:46, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Imager2006 thanks for replying. Unfortunately the website claims to have found it 'on the web', and makes rather loose assumptions about the copyright status. We, here, need to be quite sure about the copyright status and would need a statement from the original copyright holder themselves. Looking into this further - this appears to some sort of album cover or something? I'm sorry we cannot accept this as a public domain picture. -- zzuuzz (talk) 10:42, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This image has been marked as having a false license. As pointed out, the website is not a reliable source. --Yamla 16:05, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't edit posts made by other users -- you're welcome to contribute to discussion, but please don't disrupt it. Thanks. Luna Santin 09:44, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do not tamper with concensus-building...

[edit]

...as you did here.[2] It is disruptive, and any further infringements will result in your account being blocked indefinately. The move was reverted - if you move it back, you will be blocked. Daniel.Bryant T · C ] 09:45, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am blocking. This may well be the first truly punitive block I've ever issued, though it also prevents you from doing what you did again, for some time at least, and considering what you did, I would not put that past you. You've been blocked for a week for egregious comment and vote editing, and then actually acting on that claiming that the fake votes implied consensus. --Golbez 13:46, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fuck You. Imager2006 04:03, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please remain civil. See WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA. Further comments like this will result in your block being reset or extended. --Yamla 04:09, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No they won't. I won't put up with it beyond that comment. That comment got his block being reset and extended, indefinitely. --Golbez 05:44, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Columbusacademy1.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Columbusacademy1.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 23:55, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on TouchTunes, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group or service and which would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Alvestrand 21:17, 3 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Qfm96.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Qfm96.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 08:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
