Orphaned non-free media (Image:Detailed mosaic logo.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Detailed mosaic logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:43, 25 June 2008 (UTC)

New logo
[edit]Hi! I hope you don't mind, I butted in on your conversation with ZScout370 about trouble with an image upload with a probable solution. I think he's in Japan for a while, so he probably wouldn't have seen the message. Give me a shout if you have any other trouble and I'll do my best to help. --tiny plastic Grey Knight ⊖ 20:02, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, also, you should sign your name when writing on talk pages (not in articles, obviously). You can type ~~~~ or press the button on the edit toolbar. It helps everyone keep track of who's talking! --tiny plastic Grey Knight ⊖ 20:05, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- Also also, I tried to help out a bit on your sandbox, hope you don't mind. --tiny plastic Grey Knight ⊖ 20:11, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
I added the logo again. I think it should be right, but please let me know if it isn't. --InterfaithallianceDC (talk) 20:57, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- I meant to upload it over the top of Image:The Interfaith Alliance logo 2007-02.png; I went ahead and did that for you. Also, we can't put Fair Use images in sandbox pages, only in live articles; let's leave the Image:placeholder logo.png in for now and replace it when moving the finished product back to the article. It's a legal thing, we just have to muddle along! You might need to refresh your browser for the picture to update incidentally, that happens to me sometimes. --tiny plastic Grey Knight ⊖ 21:20, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Re: A Picture of a Living Person
[edit]I want to include a picture of a living person on an organization's page (he's the president of the organization) but the first time I tried it got removed. Why was this, and how can I prevent this from happening a second time? Thanks! --InterfaithallianceDC (talk) 21:06, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
- The image was deleted because it lacked licensing information, you must include proper licenses for every image you upload. Read here for appropriate licenses for pictures of living people. Melesse (talk) 05:21, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
- Am I right in thinking (based on your username) that you represent the Alliance? Presumably either they or Rev. Dr. Gaddy holds the copyright to the photograph. I think you could probably convince the relevant person to release under one of these licenses: {{cc-by-3.0}} (license text), {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} (license text), or {{attribution}}, from the list User:Melesse linked to. --tiny plastic Grey Knight ⊖ 08:45, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I'll ask who needs to be asked and get on it. --InterfaithallianceDC (talk) 13:33, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
