Welcome
[edit]Hello, Invigilator-007, and Welcome to Wikipedia!
Thank you for your contributions to this free encyclopedia. Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war; read about how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.
Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.In any case, I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you decide that you need help, check out Getting Help below, ask at the help desk, or place {{Help me}}
on your talk page and ask your question there. Please remember to sign your name on talk pages by clicking or by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your username and the date. Also, please do your best to always fill in the edit summary field. Below are some useful links to help you get started. Happy editing! Aaron Liu (talk) 21:41, 28 August 2024 (UTC)
- I am not entwined in any edit wars at all and I think I have only used the revert tool once, maybe twice. I am not here often enough to remember. You can probably tell that by how long it has taken me to see your warning.
- When I am here I put a lot of effort into researching factual information and citing it whenever possible to make the edit factual and interesting for the reader. It is normally to add further information or update out-of-date information on the topic. There may be a need to change a sentence or paragraph when adding further information so it still reads clearly. If unable to do that then adding extra information can look strange or not read correctly when not being able to tie it in to what was previously written. I want to keep the Wiki integrity and would never deliberately cause an issue like you have mentioned, only to improve on it. I always enter the edit information in the summary field when satisfied all is well. I do not often make any edits on Wikipedia anyway. I am not sure where you are coming from in stating what you have and feel it was unwarranted under the circumstances.
- If you care to explain further I would be happy to take note. Invigilator-007 (talk) 20:47, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
- That's great! I added that part because you re-added Toby Keith's children's names back to another part of the article after I reverted your first edit. If you don't participate in editing battles, that is wonderful, and we thank you for your edits. Aaron Liu (talk) 20:54, 3 October 2024 (UTC)
