There has been an ongoing perpetuation of a falsehood that my father and Pam Feely were ‘high school’ sweethearts. This is something she coined after my father’s death. My father went to school in NYC and Florida. His family bought a house in Bearsville NY after the end of the war on the GI bill. He never lived in the Woodstock area until then.

She may have been in high school, but they were not the same age. He was a veteran when he met her. And absolutely true that he flew to NY while on a 10 day bender and they drank, went to Las Vegas and got married while my father was still living with Michelle. We were all shocked that he married a woman none of us had met and who had four children by three previous husbands.
