Fiction House

[edit]

Wikipedia appreciates all constructive editors, but the way it's set up, everything in it needs to be verified by a reliable-source citation. I'm sure you can understand that an encyclopedia can't just accept anything anybody adds and "take their word for it." Anyone can claim to be anyone on Wikpedia, and we occasionally gets hoaxed: People have claimed they're a friend of so-and-so and that person is dead, etc.

In this case, it would be great to have more solid information about Fiction House. But anything that goes in needs to be footnoted to a public source, whether a book or magazine that theoretically exists in a library, or to a journalistic or academic website. What I would suggest, if you really are who you say you are, is to contact a magazine such as Alter Ego, which can verify your identity, and do an interview with it about your presumed grandfather's history with this legendary Golden Age publisher. I'm sure any comics-history magazine would love to speak to a descendant and learn more about this pioneering company. The magazine has spoken to the daughters of Joe Maneely and Bill Everett, for example.

I'll help you with contact information, etc., if you need. And I would suggest, to understand better how to write for this encyclopedia, you go to the Five Pillars of Wikipedia. With regards, Tenebrae (talk) 01:08, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello JackKelly'sGranddaughter. It has been over six months since you last edited your WP:AFC draft article submission, entitled "John B. "Jack" Kelly Snr.".

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note that Articles for Creation is not for indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you want to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by one of two methods (don't do both): 1) follow the instructions at WP:REFUND/G13, or 2) copy this code: {{subst:Refund/G13|Draft:John B. "Jack" Kelly Snr.}}, paste it in the edit box at this link, and click "Save page". An administrator will in most cases undelete the submission.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. JMHamo (talk) 13:05, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
