Compass Rose Logo

Hi Jacqb77, In response to your message about the Compass Rose Benefits Group Logo for the Compass Rose Benefits Group article. I see that you uploaded two logos to Wikimedia commons which is good. You were correct you simply use the image file name when referencing it, in an infobox there is no need to use file format you just use the file name by itself. The issue is that there was an old logo with the same name already loaded onto Wikipedia directly and so it will use this by default before going to commons files. I see that you loaded two images, one had a different name and so I have updated the article using this second image as you can see this works. There are two option, either ask an admin to delete the old logo on Wikipedia, as it is now no longer used in an article somebody will do that eventually anyway but may take some time. The other option is to upload your image again using a different file name to common. Or just leave the second logo which also looks fine. Hope this helps. Thank you so much! All of this was very useful. I will ask an admin to delete the old logo, I greatly appreciate you changing it to one of the ones I uploaded. Hello, my company recently rebranded and we have a new logo. I uploaded our new logo without realizing it has the same file name as our old logo, and I therefore cannot add the new image to our page. I received advice that I could ask an admin to delete the old logo. Any help is appreciated! We have a placeholder logo in there now, but it's not the final image we'd like to remain there. If you are editing/contributing about your company, the Terms of Use require that to be formally disclosed, please see the paid editing policy for instructions, you should also be familiar with conflict of interest. You have not uploaded any image to Wikipedia; you have only uploaded images to Wikimedia Commons. Wikipedia administrators have no more power at Wikimedia Commons than you have, so you would have to ask for help from a Commons administrator. However, uploading your company's logo to Commons was almost certainly a mistake, as it is extremely unlikely that your company really wishes to release it logo into the public domain, as you stated when you uploaded it. Wikimedia Commons accepts only files which are explicitly freely licensed, or that are in the public domain. In the unlikely event that the logo really has been released into the public domain, you will need to provide proof of that fact to Wikimedia Commons, and you may also wish to correct the copyright notice on your company's website, because at present it says "All rights reserved".
