Hello Jakodak
[edit]Hi. I work in patent law as well. What technologies do you work in? Ppelletier (talk) 04:48, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- I'm now out of the patent prosecution business. I'm now doing patent analysis (PCT) contract work and most of it relates medical devices. Most of my current efforts are in trying to fund my start up, Heat Vehicle, Inc. How about yourself?Jakodak (talk) 18:07, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Very cool. Working on a start up sounds exciting. I mainly practice in software and web applications, but try to get as much experience in other areas as possible. I notice Heat Vehicle has a listing on Gust. Do you like the platform? Ppelletier (talk) 01:34, 14 February 2013 (UTC)
- Couldn't say as yet. I've really just begun using it. I'm waiting for a response from B&D Stanley. If they pass, then I'll plunge right into Gust and complete the process.Jakodak (talk) 12:10, 19 February 2013 (UTC)
Hello there!
[edit]Hi, Jim! It looks like you and I will be working together on this semester-long project, so I thought I would reach out to you. First off, my name is Jessica, and I live in the Indianapolis, IN area with my husband, where I do genetic manipulation work on piglets for the Department of Transplant Surgery. The work can be a bit challenging at times, but the end results are worth it in the end. As for you, I see you are a patent attorney as well as a Captain in the Army Reserves. Thank you for your continuous services for our country. In addition, I believe your law background will definitely bring something new and helpful to the table for our project since my background is mainly Biochemistry/Molecular Biology. I look forward to working with you! Jbmontgomery24 (talk) 19:02, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Jessica, in addition to the message I left in your talk page, you've got me curious about your work. I assume the genetic engineering is all about immunosuppression.Jakodak (talk) 18:14, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
- Yes, much of the work I am currently involved in is the genetic manipulation (or engineering as you mentioned)of different piglet cell lines. These cell lines of different interest are cloned (the area I work in), and the clones will be nuclear transferred into piglet oocytes. After that is completed, one of the specialist on our team (D.V.M.) plants these genetically manipulated cell lines into a surrogate mother. After 5 months, the knock-out piglet of interest will be born. The P.I. of our lab is mainly interested in developing different cell lines within piglets and how they relate to humans (another part of the lab strictly works with human and piglet antigens). You are right - it is rather fascinating work! Jbmontgomery24 (talk) 20:50, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Welcome, again!
[edit]Hi! It's great to meet you and I hope that you have a great time working on Wikipedia this semester. We're glad you're here! Let me know if you need anything. Best, Keilana|Parlez ici 21:15, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
