Yes, I am a bureaucrat. You can see my name on the list of Wikipedia bureaucrats. Why do you ask? Warofdreams talk 02:15, 23 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, the hip thing doesn't. That was an unusual match, and the only time that has happened. Cheers, and I'm going to change my sig back now. -- The Hybrid wishes you a Merry Christmas 08:59, 26 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

When it comes to vandals, just revert them, give out the appropriate warnings, don't be too liberal with the blatant vandal warning (I learned this from my failed RfA), and report them to WP:AIV after going through the warning process. Revert, warn, report. This is the most efficient process for dealing with vandals. Cheers, -- THL 11:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As far as the Xtreme movement goes, just give him the test template (the test templates are the generic ones, and the most commonly used), then write him a message below that. Include a link to the page that explains how to use images, and ask him to practice using images in the sandbox. Include a link to the sandbox. That is what I would do about that person. If he continues, just continue to give him the test templates up through 4, and then report him to the AIV board. However, I don't foresee him giving you any more trouble. This seems like a good user who is just making basic mistakes. BTW, I'm going to be going on vacation tomorrow, and I won't be back until the 1st. Cheers, -- THL 03:53, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I did have a nice vacation. I went to San Diego and visited my cousins. I also went through the USS Midway (CV-41) and the Maritime Museum of San Diego. It was very relaxing, and the seafood was incredible. Well, has anything interesting happened while I was gone? Cheers, -- THL 09:19, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Would you happen to know where I could buy Memory by Mercy Drive? It isn't on iTunes, and I don't really want to buy their CD. Would you happen to know where I could buy the mp3 file? Cheers, -- THL 15:31, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Though it is now used as a signature move only, WP:PW policy clearly states that a move will never fall in status. If a move was used as a signature move in the past, it will always be put in the list of signature moves. If a move was ever used as a finisher, it will always be listed as a finisher. That is what applies to this situation; therefore, you made the correct decision. Like you said, we should discuss this on the talk page.

This is off the subject of RVD. Don't worry about how much experience someone has. If you feel that anyone made a wrong decision, be bold. Do what you feel is right, and discuss it with them. You're decisions are sound, and you have earned my respect. The only real flaw that you have is not being bold enough. You have learned way faster then most people, and you show editing and decision making skills far beyond your level of experience. You have no reason to be timid because of someone's edit count or level of experience. Just be bold, and don't worry about this stuff anymore. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 06:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I had to change my signature. It turns out that there is an actual User:THL :(. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:00, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

05:46, 12 October 2006 (UTC) is the exact time and date of my first usage of the THL signature. I'm not to worried about this though. I wasn't too attached to that sig, and I got permission to leave a disclaimer on his user page and talk page. It's all good, thanks though. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 05:06, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It must be one of the few policies kept on project subpages. I will find the page for you and give you a link. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:10, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In truth, I have never read it. I've simply been repeating what several very high profile and established users have said. I've asked Paulley about it. I should have a link on my talk page by tomorrow assuming that this policy exists. I will let you know when he replies, but if you can't wait add my talk page to your watchlist. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:38, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If it doesn't exist, then I would immediatly bring it up on the WP:PW talk page, and make a point of calling the people liars who said this. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 07:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. -- The Hybrid 07:59, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Personally I like your sig. The only thing distracting about it, and that is questionable, is the brightness of the colors used. If you switch to just a little bit darker green as opposed to the lime it should work a lot better. Cheers, -- The Hybrid 05:24, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I may be quitting. I've grown tired of the corruption that prompted me to write User:The Hybrid/View a while ago. I'm taking a long Wikibreak to consider this. I came back today to let some more people know, as the only one I told yesterday was Mikedk9109. Later, -- The Hybrid 20:12, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No, quite frankly I didn't care about that, as when Paulley gets moving there is nothing that can stop him, and those articles were too valuable to be deleted. The fallout from the deletion would have been mounds of fancruft divided into tens of thousands of articles as opposed to what we have now. Deleting them isn't even an option, so there was nothing to worry about. The final straw was when my friend DarknessLord had most of his subpages nominated for deletion. Though legitimate points are brought up, most everyone has a subpage that doesn't fit into WP policy. While I now support deleting his simply due to the sheer quantity of his random nonsense, he shouldn't have been singled out for this. Everyone should have their random pages deleted, or no one should. The nominator refusing to put his money where his mouth is and nominate the other pages for deletion was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back. Wikipedia is a hobby, not an obligation, and it isn't worth raising my blood pressure over. Peace, -- The Hybrid 20:25, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:AfD

[edit]
I appreciate the situation, and indeed the AfD is ready for closure. But because you made a personal request on my talk page, I feel it inappropriate for me to close this AfD. A combination of reasons: a) a person directly involved in the discussions asked an admin in particular to close; b) And most importantly, this admin, which is myself, does not usually closes AfDs. So if I were to respond to this and close this AfD, and take measures to address the nominator's behaviour, you see how a direct, "personal" connection between one of the parties involved and the closing admin is formed, which affects the necessary detachment, creating the aspect of "enlisting" help to secure a result, something that would not benefit anyone. Notice that this is particularly strong when relating to me personaly because I'm not at all active in closing AfDs — this perspective would be rather different if I were a prominent AfD closer, in which case this could easily be seen as a simple note about a AfD that is ready to close. Solution: please post an open request, not addressed to anyone particularly, on the Administrators' noticeboard. Response should be very quick, and the AfD will likely be closed within the hour. Sorry I can't help more. Redux 02:18, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. You are welcome. But technically, I declined your request to be renamed because I'm a Bureaucrat. That's a different access level then Administrator. Although all the Bureaucrats are also Administrators, the duties and the tools are different, and Administrators (who are not also Bureaucrats, which is the large majority) cannot address, for instance, rename requests. Only Bureaucrats can do that. Cheers, Redux 13:39, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your Sig

[edit]

Could you please keep your signature simple please? This:

--<span style="background:lime; color:red">  Jลмєs Mลxx</span><span style="background:lime; color:blue">™ </span>'<span style="background:blue; color:yellow"> Msg me </span>'<span style="background:aqua; color:fuchsia"> Contribs </span>

is not a appropriate size for a signature. Try to keep it a little more simple, maybe anywhere from 70-80 characters at the most, but your signature as it is, is really unneeded. Links to your userpage and talk page aren't as important as you may think it is. (see WP:SIG. I'm not saying that you can't be creative, but try to keep the signature simple. Edge's Movelist

[edit]

I was the one that removed the sleeper and the backdrop and such from the list because these moves are more so just regularly used by many wrestlers in general, and aren't technically Signature moves, atleast not unless soemone can back that they are, Edge hasn't won a match with, or 'glorified the sleeper' (the sleeper is a general move which is about as common as the back body drop that just about everyone in the WWE uses, determinign your heel face status usually.). The backdrop is moreso just a common counter, or a move the slow down the match pace, and I don't think I've seen him go for covers/pin attempts after landing them. I also haven't seen him use the crossbody other than generically for diving spot he may have had t do, because I've also seen many others like Shelton Benjamin use the diving crossbody as to add variety to a match. to end my rambling, most of those moves should be ridden of unless you wanted to add that he sometimes punches, chops, forearm smashes, kicks to the gut, etc... to his opponets aswell. I look forward to your responce and/or input. --Ben Tokyo 13:54, April 3, 2007

Signature moves mean moves you have done often in your career during a match. This is what I was told by higher-ups in WP:PW. Edge does the sleeper in almost all his normal matches, then turns it into a rear naked choke. Sure he hasn't won any matches with it, but you can count the number of people who have won a match with that type of move. "Edge hasn't won a match with, or 'glorified the sleeper'" <--- Has Shelton Benjamin won matches with sleepers? There has been very few wrestlers to win a match with a classic sleeper. Also, if Edge did win many matches with the sleeper, wouldn't it be in the Finishers section as opposed to the Signature moves section? As for crossbody, that is an often move he uses in matches. Not for dive spots. As for you saying Shelton Benjamin uses it for variety of the match and Adam Copeland basically just uses it for a spot, I'm inclined to say that maybe you might be a Edge "hater" and just want to remove some moves from his list. I'm not going to make such a bold accusation though, and just for the record, this was not a personal attack. And finally, I'm still sticking to the changes I made all those months ago to the move list. Now I look forward to hearing what YOU have to say. --  Jลмєs Mลxx™  Msg me  17:59, 3 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad we could have this exchange of ideas, because it seems that they may have defined these moves a little loosely. I mean if it were that way then shouldn't we do that for all the signature lists we run into and not just Edge's? What I meant by glorified by like how Orton's "High Angle Boston Crab" (Walls of Jericho) is being glorified by say JR and King, like they're going out of their way to point out how good he is at doing it, which basically tells me that it's a signature. Where as they'd usually just say "...and Edge reverse into a sleeper" or a backdrop or something, or they'll say that it was a good reversal. I mean you could say that everyone in ROH has the arm drag as a signature, or anyone who connects the arm-drag into an arm-lock under that assumption. As for the possibility of me being an "Edge-Hater", you'd be way off, I wouldn't be so nit picky if I didn't think he's one of WWE's best stars for performance and character. I think he's a great wrestler. Anyway I got a little off topic and I just wanted to exchange some ideas to see if we could make sure that some of these profiles are more credible. Whether the idea came from me or not. I once again look forward to your response. --Ben Tokyo 0:07, April 7, 2007

I can understand where you are coming from with the sleeper hold and the back drop. Those can be removed off the list. However, rear naked choke is a move not many wrestler's use, and I think it should stay. He may not "glorify" it, but he does use it often. Thing is however, WP:PW views a signature maneuver as a move you've done several times during a career-span. We can't always go by what we personally view a move is. Like you say Orton's high angle boston crab is glorified on TV by JR and King. If WP:PW feels it doesn't qualify (and I think because hes done it several times so far, it does) then it wont be there. I personally feel that the split-legged moonsault that RVD does shouldn't be listed as a finisher, but WP:PW feels it does because it was once used as one in the early 90's, and if it was once a finisher, it is always a finisher. I have to uphold what WP:PW says, and I have fought about it several times with them, but they always win out. The one battle I did win against WP:PW was getting them to change the name of the ECW World Title from ECW World Heavyweight Championship to ECW World Championship. Thanks to an administrator who had stumbled upon the page, they did a vote which wasn't brought to the attention of WP:PW and the page was renamed accordingly. Someone internally said that it should have been brought to the attention of the project page, but the admin said that it would violate WP:SNOW, meaning that it would be rejected immediately and have no chance of being changed. I'm glad the name was changed, because this is what they called it on TV, so they should call it this on Wiki. And back to Edge, do what you feel should be done to the move list. I'll check it out when you're done, and let you know if I have any objections. --  Jลмєs Mลxx™  Msg me  03:44, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I've made my modifications. On that, I've just thought about it, but would a diving Spear or the running spear to an opponent against the turnbuckle count as their own signatures? I've seen Edge use the diving a few times, he once beet Angle in a cage match with it. and the spear to the turnbuckle almost seem credible a a move to weaken an opponent for the spear. Your thoughts? --Ben Tokyo 1:04, April 7, 2007

Hey

[edit]

Things are pretty good. I'm still a bit numb from the Chris Benoit tragedy. I expected that I would be angry at him by now, and I should be, but for some reason I'm not. I'm angrier at the media for not doing enough research on the incident. How are things rollin with you? The Hybrid 14:25, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think that it was just a lucky vandal. The user had a (short) history of vandalism. I also don't believe that it was from the WWE, as Wikipedia has some very experienced IP trackers, and they haven't said that it was from WWE headquarters, or an IP registered for use by their wrestlers. Peace, The Hybrid 15:51, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, they need to find a new song. Famous would work, or maybe an Ozzy song, just because Ozzy kicks ass. I'm fed up with the media coverage of our article on Benoit, and I may just leave it be. I hate these media people who think that they're so much smarter than everyone else, but know absolutely nothing about what they are discussing. They wouldn't even listen to Jimbo Wales when he told them that it was highly unlikely the vandal had any info on what happened ahead of time. So annoying. Peace, The Hybrid 14:38, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandalism

[edit]

You normally report vandalism at WP:AIV, but since you know this person off wiki I would recommend that you bring this up at the admin noticeboard, as they may be willing to block this person before a final warning is given. No guarantees of that, however. Peace, The Hybrid 01:51, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There is really nothing that I can do. Copying and personalizing user pages is a fairly common occurrence. Like I said, you should bring this up at WP:AN, or possibly WP:AN/I. The fact that he vandalized your user page shows that he plans on disrupting things, so if you tell the admins of your off-wiki history with him they will probably take some form of action. If they won't, then I don't think that there is anything that can be done but wait for him to commit enough violations to get himself blocked. I know that there is nothing that I can do. I can't even supplement your report, as I have never met this person. Sorry, The Hybrid 05:29, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
