User talk pages[edit]

Hello, Jan,

On the English Wikipedia, we do not delete user talk pages unless they violate copyright, BLP or contain personal information. If you find material you believe is objectionable, please just remove it from the page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:40, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:ABjomadi[edit]

Hello Jan Myšák. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:ABjomadi, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to drafts. Thank you. Jackmcbarn (talk) 19:14, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2020 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2020 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 7 December 2020. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2020 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 03:00, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Help[edit]

Could you help me build my Article properly? Blupigs@gmail.com Audiencer (talk) 20:36, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Audiencer: Hi, I'm not particularly experienced in creating articles on this particular wiki. If you wish to create a new article, you should be able to find more detailed help here or here. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 20:53, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much will try it more simple first and follow the exact guidelines, I just added it new, could you maybe look at it ? Audiencer (talk) 20:59, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad of a start I guess. Your article has to be notable (has specific rules for people, organizations, musicians etc.), must cite reliable sources and be objective, non-promotional. --Jan Myšák (talk) 21:04, 27 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jan -- I've declined your speedy request on the above because user pages (including user talk) are exempt. Within reason, users can put whatever they like on their own user pages. Cheers, Espresso Addict (talk) 22:03, 25 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Espresso Addict: Hi, thanks for explaining. I will keep it in mind next time. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 06:59, 26 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Guide[edit]

Good day, please can u help me with my Wikipedia information, I need a guard. I’m a Musical artist Kendollar Boliviia (talk) 10:24, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Kendollar Boliviia: Hi, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "guard". See, the problem is that autobiographies are discouraged across all Wikimedia projects. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 10:34, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I want by biography on Wikipedia, I just need a guide about, can you be of an help to me please, thank you. Kendollar Boliviia (talk) 10:37, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kendollar Boliviia: Hi, not to be rude, but discouraged means not recommended. It is unlikely such an article would stay here, due to rules such as the notability policy. Therefore I will not be able to help you. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 10:47, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jan, I saw you had previously nominated their User and Sandbox pages for U5 CSD but they recreated them. In case you are not aware, this is a LTA sock, see Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Warmate Promise/Archive. I renominated them again but under G5 this time. Although, that is not going to stop them. Anyway, thank you for your diligence. S0091 (talk) 16:20, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@S0091: Hi, I was indeed not aware, plus I wasn't here for a few days now, although I've seen socks here before :) Thanks for your work as well --Jan Myšák (talk) 12:14, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletions[edit]

I have noticed that in recent days/weeks you have made a large number of Speedy deletion nominations. I hasten to say that without eception the ones which i have seen have been correctly selected, so thank you for that. But they have not been correctly tagged. It is a requirement in wikipedia that articles nominated for speedy deletion can be deleted only if they fall into clearly defined criteia, and it helps if the correct tag is applied when making a nomination You can find all of the valid tags at CAT:SPEEDY. ----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 22:09, 15 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Anthony Bradbury: Hi, yes, I use the tags provided by Twinkle and sometimes my own as well, usually "not wiki-related" (which Nonsense would fit, too) or "selfpromo, see edit summary" (for deletions of promotion that is not clearly visible and may therefore be declined). I will try to pay more attention to it in the future. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 14:53, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, and i say again all of the nominations I have seen are accurate, but it would make my work as an admin easier if you could use the approved reasons. ----Anthony Bradbury"talk" 21:55, 16 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I just came across one of your CSD taggings and came here to say what Anthony has said to you. Speedy deletion has specific, agreed upon criteria and writing in your own reason, however valid you might think it is, causes the page to fall into "Unspecified criteria" which is a catch-all category. If you could review Criteria for Speedy Deletion and use the accepted CSD codes, it would make an admin's life much easier. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:11, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I understand. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 07:07, 17 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jan,

Thank you for tagging this orphaned talk page for deletion. I saw that you used Twinkle for tagging, which is great and makes things easy. However, you need to set up your Preferences so that "Notify page creator" is selected. This can involve you going into Preferences and checking the boxes for all CSD criteria because I think the default is that Twinkle only has a few common criteria, like A7 and G11, checked off. I deal with a lot of Empty Categories and I know I had to check off the CSD C1 box when I started using Twinkle as it wasn't checked off by default back then.

Until this feature gets changed, editors need to select all the CSD criteria by checking all of the boxes. I think I'll drop a note to the Twinkle developers about this because it doesn't matter why a page is deleted, the page creator still should get a notification. Thank you! Liz Read! Talk! 16:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Hi, I have it set so that it always notifies, but I sometimes deliberately check it off, such as when deleting clear vandalism. I won't do it in the future then. Best, --Jan Myšák (talk) 17:53, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mobile Abattoir[edit]

Morning we are trying to create a wiki page on our mobile abattoir for meat production mobile abattoir and add the dialog and story on this as its the first in New Zealand there a lot to add to Wikipedia. Mobileabb (talk) 19:38, 18 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Jan Myšák,

First, thank you for tagging this page for deletion. It was clearly inappropriate. I see you used Twinkle to tag pages for speedy deletion, which is great, I use Twinkle throughout the day. However, I'd like to ask you to check your Twinkle Preferences because you didn't leave a talk page notice for the page creator, in fact, they had no user talk page created yet.

So, in your Twinkle Preferences, please make sure that a) "Notify page creator" box is checked and b) that all different types of CSD criteria boxes are also checked. I think in the Twinkle default settings, only a few CSD criteria are checked off but it really doesn't matter why a page has been tagged for deletion, the page creator still should be notified if only so that they don't repeat their mistakes.

Thanks for checking your Preferences and thank you for all of your patrolling and contributions to the project! Liz Read! Talk! 21:49, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Liz: Hi, I have it checked but sometimes it simply doesn't seem to do anything, such as here (tagged minutes ago and nothing happened). --Jan Myšák (talk) 12:34, 26 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy delete at Talk:Power sharing[edit]

Hope you don't mind. I removed the speedy delete (G2 - test) at Talk:Power sharing. The article does exist, so I didn't think the page acutally needed to be deleted. I did blank out the contents, because, yes, they were a problem. Cheers. signed, Willondon (talk) 21:57, 25 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:S9404264461[edit]

Hello Jan Myšák, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:S9404264461, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a blatant misuse of Wikipedia as a webhost. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:54, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Ishkibbles[edit]

Hello Jan Myšák, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Ishkibbles, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not nonsense - there is meaningful content. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 13:56, 1 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Altered speedy deletion rationale: Draft:MONU KAUSHIK[edit]

Hello Jan Myšák. I am just letting you know that I deleted Draft:MONU KAUSHIK, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which didn't fit the page in question. Thank you. Ivanvector (Talk/Edits) 19:01, 18 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion rejected: User:Impact sprinkler[edit]

Hello. I saw that you had tagged User:Impact sprinkler for speedy deletion as spam. I think it is a draft article in the wrong place, so I removed the speedy tag and added a {{Userspace draft}} tag. Eastmain (talkcontribs) 09:24, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
