Attribution[edit]

Hi. I'm evaluating copyright problems listing for the day you were contacted and came upon these articles. It's likely that the person who left you the notice was unaware that most content on US government websites is public domain. Our contributors come from all around the world and have varying levels of familiarity with the copyright laws that govern Wikipedia. This is one of the reasons that it is required that contributors who copy content from public domain sources (which is certainly permitted) explicitly note that they are doing so. We have "attribution templates" that make this easy--they just indicate where the content is from, that content is used verbatim and that the content is public domain. :) You can read more about this at Wikipedia:Plagiarism.

I'll fix these instances, but if you have copied from other public domain sources in the past or if you do so in the future, please make sure to follow the procedures described in that linked guideline. If you have any questions about how to do that, you are welcome to drop by my talk page. Thanks! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:03, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of List of elderly care facilities in the United States[edit]

The article List of elderly care facilities in the United States has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Believe this is a case of WP:LISTCRUFT. No other list like this exists on WP and only one of the 50 facilities listed merit a WP article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
