I hate to do this to your first article, but I see that Guitar tuning with fluorescent lamp doesn't have any references. Do you know where the idea has been previously published? Melchoir 01:26, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I searched the web and could not find any discussion of this tuning technique. But I know it works because I tune my guitar this way. What do you recommend regarding the article? Is this sort of thing not appropriate for Wikipedia? JesseStone 23:57, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I've tried a few Google searches, but all I get is false positives. If we can't find a source, then I'm afraid that the material isn't appropriate for Wikipedia. As Wikipedia:No original research puts it, "We would have to turn away even Pulitzer-level journalism and Nobel-level science if its authors tried to publish it first on Wikipedia." Perhaps you could submit an article on the method to a trade magazine and get it published there?
In the meanwhile, if you'd like to preserve the text you've already written, you could move the article into your userspace. We'd still have to remove the links from Musical tuning and Fluorescent lamp, though. Melchoir 03:34, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I removed the links from Musical tuning and Fluorescent lamp, and I moved the text to User:JesseStone. How do I delete the Guitar tuning with fluorescent lamp article? (I see there's also a link from Template talk:Did you know but there's probably not much value in removing that one.) JesseStone 17:33, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you might get away with {{db-author}}, but the article has had some input from User:Circeus and it drew a talk page comment from User:Rainwarrior, so maybe that's not quite appropriate. I'll just {{prod}} it and it'll be taken care of eventually.
Thanks for understanding! Melchoir 18:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
