Edit warring[edit]

This is your last warning for edit warring, I will report you if you continue any further. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:06, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're the one who is actively removing citations providing proof on his Ethiopian Oromo heritage, I can report you for edit warring. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:08, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm removing uncredible citations, you cannot add Reddit comments, TikToks, or uncredible YouTube and Twitter links. If it will help any please state any of your concerns in the article talk page and stop edit warring. Also citations from credible sources like BBC News state that his father is of Somali descent. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:11, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
These link to footage of him confirming himself that he is of Oromo descent. that is credible, BBC News article only mentions his own claim of his Father being somali, which doesn't make sense as in another source he claims his Father was Oromo. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:16, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Until there is a credible source verifying it completely and using it then it is not, he says a lot and not all of it is credible. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:19, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
the revision that's for him being Ethiopian has more structure and evidence then the one that's for him being Somali. which is nothing but an unproven BBC Somali article, The citation source for him being Ethiopian has footage of him saying he is of Oromo and Yemeni heritage. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:22, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
BBC News is more credible than Reddit and TikTok links, I've reported you to admins and you can dispute it there RowanJ LP (talk) 14:27, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Didn't you also use a tiktok source for him stating he is somali? Jimmybingus (talk) 14:31, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, I didn't. I used BBC News, Coconuts Media, Dexerto, and Sportskeeda. I probably missed a few publishers but still. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:35, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The only source you used to back up his Somali heritage was BBC News Somali, which only claimed "he said in a video that his father was somali" but the video was not provided. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:38, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay? That still isn't an excuse to use unreliable sources. Please look at this and see how none of the sources you provided are reliable. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You still should at least keep in the controversies sub paragraph talking about his Somali Identity instead of scrubbing it out Jimmybingus (talk) 14:44, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Unless there's reliable and credible sources talking about it then no, the only real source I could find is an article created by Coconuts Media briefly talking about how people dispute the fact that he is Somali. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:47, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also you failed to tell me that you submitted a report about me with edit warring, you added my whole userpage to the report which was unneeded, you never gave me a 3RR warning, and you never made any attempt to resolve dispute on article talk page. Either fix the report or take it down. RowanJ LP (talk) 14:49, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will fix it. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:52, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You also could of told me a lot earlier to dispute this on the talk page, I did not refuse Jimmybingus (talk) 14:58, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I did, I stated "I'm removing uncredible citations, you cannot add Reddit comments, TikToks, or uncredible YouTube and Twitter links. If it will help any please state any of your concerns in the article talk page and stop edit warring. Also citations from credible sources like BBC News state that his father is of Somali descent.". RowanJ LP (talk) 15:03, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The BBC News article states that "He said in a video that his father is Somali while his mother is Ethiopian, "I want to make one thing clear, my father is Somali and my mother is Ethiopian, my mother is Oromo," he said." it's not saying directly that he is Somali but rather his claim of being somali Jimmybingus (talk) 15:15, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's the same with the sources you bring, the only difference is that BBC News is a reliable source and things like TikTok and Reddit aren't. RowanJ LP (talk) 15:20, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
So if i find a generally reliable source that proves his Oromo heritage, the article can be reverted? and also I think the controversial sub-paragraph of his "Self-Declared False Claim of Somali Identity" should stay in. Jimmybingus (talk) 15:30, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find sources that dispute his Somali heritage then I see no reasons that it shouldn't be allowed, I also want to let you know I already have a note that states that his Somali heritage is disputed by some RowanJ LP (talk) 15:33, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will say please provide everything in the talk page before publishing to make sure an edit war doesn't ensue again. RowanJ LP (talk) 15:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for clearing this up. I will remember this in the future. Jimmybingus (talk) 16:13, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The tiktok video itself was visual and audial confirmation ofhim confirming his dad is oromo. https://www.tiktok.com/@imanalitv/video/7241219787928456494?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc&web_id=7186599059587040770
This is more credible then a news article that's not in English. Jimmybingus (talk) 14:41, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add unreferenced or poorly referenced information, especially if controversial, to articles or any other page on Wikipedia about living (or recently deceased) persons, as you did to Johnny Somali. Thank you. Belbury (talk) 14:16, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

That was footage of him from his own words stating that he is a Oromo-Yemeni, that is more credible that a BBC somalia article stating he is Somali. with no evidence within the mews article either Jimmybingus (talk) 14:25, 10 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
