Notice

The article Oakhyrst Grange School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non notable independent (fee paying) primary school. No in depth reliable sources, no claims of importance or significance. Wikipedia is not a listing site for schools or businesses WP:NOTDIR. Article fails WP:GNG and WP:ORG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. New Beacon[edit]

You wrote: "the changes are because the links are now no longer applicable, how can you make statements without the references". If the online link is no longer available, the correct action would be to reference the newspaper. Once something is in print, it doesn't just disappear when the pages go off-line. If you remove material, you should explain the reasons on the article's Talk page. Deb (talk) 22:42, 29 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, Jimvinkiss. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 19:55, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I notice you haven't owned up to a conflict of interest so I am taking it that you aren't connected with the school in any way. Nevertheless, your recent additions are both promotionally worded and unreferenced. This is an encyclopedia, not a novel or a brochure for the school. Without references, you cannot add things like:
  • "His methods were successful and he attracted so many boys..."
  • "Sadly, ill-health saw his early passing and so began the reign of Cecil’s son, John Norman"
  • "thus the beginning of a new era..."
  • "In 2008 Mike Piercy, an experienced prep school man himself, was appointed to take the New Beacon forward"

I'll give you some time to add the references and remove the promotional language. If you aren't able to do so within the next 24 hours, I'll either revert your changes again or put the whole article into draft space for you to work on. Deb (talk) 20:58, 28 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 30[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited New Beacon School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Frank Woods. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:58, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
