Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Talk:South Park (season 1), (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 07:57, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

Please forgive me if I've gone about this the wrong way, but I've gone through the trouble of correcting a long-standing piece of misinformation that has plagued South Park episode guides for a long time and it's not my intention to cause trouble. I have a sincere passion for correcting information like this and it is disheartening to have it mistaken for "vandalism".
Volcano and Weight Gain 4000 have had the incorrect airdates displayed for a LONG TIME and I'm trying to correct it. Basically, Volcano aired on August 20th, 1997. Weight Gain 4000 aired on August 27th, 1997. When South park was released to DVD these airdates were printed incorrectly on the packaging (among other errors on the set) and for some reason this information spread like a virus to many sites listing episode information. I tried correcting this, cited my sources, and contributed to the Talk pages for each page I did this for in an attempt to not be misunderstood and yet I was shut down immediately.
In fact, one of the sources cited ON the page for Volcano is a usenet posting dated August 21st, 1997 and refers to Volcano as "last night's episode": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volcano_(South_Park)#cite_note-20 And, THIS source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_South_Park_episodes#cite_note-tvguide_s01-16 shows the episodes listed my way, and yet this not reflected on the page citing said source. This old South Park website reports Weight Gain 4000 as airing on August 27: https://web.archive.org/web/19990203115913/http://www.beef-cake.com/taison/latestnewsarchive/0097.htm
This misinformation has persisted because it's become consensus, but consensus is meaningless once proof gets involved. Archival sources prove that Volcano aired on August 20th 1997, and Weight Gain 4000 aired on August 27th, 1997.
I am begging you to please fix this!
I suggest you read WP:SPA and drop this subject or be reported to site admins. - SanAnMan (talk) 00:56, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
