Question

Hello Jkaharper i've noticed that you find sources on minor notability people's so i was wondering if you could take a look at this Grave article on the actress Julie Gibson who was born in 1913. It say's that Gibson is buried in Normal Hill Cemetery but for some reason there's no death month or date so i was wondering if you could look into this whenever you are not busy. Hi there! Thanks for dropping a line on this. I can answer your question straight off. It is not uncommon for someone of a grand age to have a Geny or a FindAGrave page whilst they are still alive. It often suggests they have picked a burial place (and in some instances reserved, paid for a plot and a stone etc.). If Gibson had passed in the meantime, I would have expected to see an obituary appear. That being said, there have been some actors/actresses from that era who have received press coverage in recent years, and yet, when they passed they didn't receive any coverage. Dorothy Morrison comes to mind. There are other ways in which I can check using social security benefit sites, Ancestry etc. so I will keep an eye out but I'm pretty certain she's still alive. Hell J. I am sorry that I had missed the discussion about that website. I'm really surprised that there is a dearth of info/obits about someone whose voice was a part of my cartoon viewings as a child. Hi there, thanks for the note. I've spent years looking for the answer on this one and several other editors have searched and failed. Because she hasn't been active in decades and faded into obscurity, she completely disappeared from the limelight. The only way the answer will be found is if somebody looks through official records. I would suggest that researchers take what we know i.e. names, dates, marriages etc. and use them to scour through records. This is what I did for Patricia Laffan, however, I am a British citizen so I was in a position to apply to the registrar office in London to help me with this. Margie Hines is American and as such I wouldn't really know where to start. Glad that you've raised it anyway. Maybe somebody will get to the bottom of it. Sadly this case is not unique though. Helen Rowland (actress) and Dusty Anderson are two others. If you get bored then tell me and I can send you a huge list haha! Thanks and sorry I can't be of no help.
