Traditional Indian Miniature Artist Ramu Ramdev

Ramu Ramdev S/o Shri Achleshwar Prasad Ramdev was born at Jaipur on 7th May, 1966. He learnt this Art from his elder brother Shri Govind Ramdev as also from Shri Bannu ji; and specialised with perfection in Traditional Style Painting. Shri Ramu Ramdev had received the State Award for 1998-99, for excellence in Miniature Painting.

Since last 20 years as an artist, Ramu Ramdev has come a long way. He established “Rangreet in the year 1996, with the aim of preserving the “traditional Indian miniature art” by teaching it to thousands of young artists and by honoring the great artists to come forward and make an effort in the same direction.

“Rangreet” has been around from last eleven years and doing following tasks like organizing training camps of traditional Indian miniature paintings, hosting workshops, organizing conferences, honoring master artists and encouraging new talents.

In last 10 years Ramu Ramdev has become a synonym for Traditional Indian Miniature Paintings in Rajasthan.

He organizes summer camps every year in the City Palace of Jaipur, where hundreds of new talents polish their skills. The teaching goes in job oriented manner so that after the camp, the artist can her/him can produce their own work and can earn out of it.

Rangreet keeps on organize exhibitions. His art work has been displayed in United States of America, England, and all of the major cities across India.

Ramu Ramdev’s Art work and his efforts has been seen and praised by leading personalities across the world. Prince of Wales Prince Charles , his wife Camilla, Pakistan’s Former P.M. Benajeer Bhutto, U.S. Ambassador in INDIA are a few of the art lovers.

Ramu, in search of the possibilities and to spread the Traditional Indian Miniature Art, has traveled most of the European and United States like England, France, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, United States of America, Canada, etc.

Ramu Ramdev has been awarded with many awards and appreciations in last few years. At present he works As an Officer on Special Duty for Art & Culture & Public Relations, Maharaja Sawai Mansingh II Museum, The City Palace Jaipur.
