April 2024[edit]

Wikipedia is not a web host for holding personal web pages unrelated to work on building the encyclopaedia. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if you wish to write a personal web page, then there are many web sites which provide that sort of service, but Wikipedia is not one of them. Also please bear in mind that editing for any kind of promotional purpose is not permitted; that includes editing to promote or publicise oneself or one's work. I'm looking to get on Wikipedia as an Artist and someone who has/is contributing to the greater good. Juilejewelssmoot (talk) 18:37, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see by my accomplishments, books I have written, albums I have released I am just as important as Pink, Lady Gaga, Daughtry, Creed and all of the stars that are on Wikipedia. Juilejewelssmoot (talk) 18:38, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
However important you may be, Wikipedia is not for promoting or publicising oneself or one's work. JBW (talk) 19:13, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's funny!! From what I have seen Pink and every other artist, actor, athlete write articles about themselves and it's on Wikipedia. Juilejewelssmoot (talk) 20:46, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Guess you have to pay someone off since everything is corrupt in this country and I guess that is what Creed, Pink, Lady Gaga, all of these actors/actresses have done is paid you people off. Wikipedia is just another money talking corrupt organization just like the US Government and all of the sorry politicians. Have a nice life!! Wikipedia is a freaking joke!! Juilejewelssmoot (talk) 20:48, 8 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Juilejewelssmoot, no one is making money here. We are all volunteers. Artists like Creed, Pink and Lady Gaga have articles because a volunteer editor (likely multiple editors) are interested in them and created a referenced article on them. Maybe an editor will take an interest in your career and write about you one day if they can find sources that indicate you are notable. But Wikipedia is not a business directory or a social media platform and editors do not write articles about themselves and their career. This goes for all of us, not just you. But none of us is getting paid. We do it because we believe in free knowledge, not making money.
If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia, please bring them to the Teahouse where experienced editors can offer advice, support and a second opinion. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:15, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Now that I have read your deleted User page, it seems striking how your business is about sound, healing, soothing and the heart and yet you sound incredibly angry and caught up with conspiracy theories here. Your remark to JBW is at odds with the professional image you want to project. Just an observation. Liz Read! Talk! 01:26, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Juilejewelssmoot. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 01:15, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
