[edit]
There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. Requested username:

Request reason:

Hi there, I would like to request an unblock. I had been using the Greenwood College School account in an effort to ensure that edits were transparent, but I do understand the concern with using an organizational account to edit that organization's page, and I am completely fine with that change. The edits I made to the Greenwood page were not intended to be advertising - I was logging in to change factual inaccuracies that had been added (e.g. that our school was primarily founded by David "Lub" Latimer, which is not true) and to update things such as tuition fees, enrolment etc. I certainly did not intend to use biased/marketing language, and if unblocked would commit to doing my very best to using 100% neutral language in posts/edits. Thank you for your consideration.

Decline reason:

The username issue is now resolved. However, the other elements of the block still need to be addressed. To be unblocked:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organization, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets.

So we know understanding is mutual, please state your understanding/response to each item in your own words.

I'm sorry that this message could not be more favorable. 331dot (talk) 22:27, 5 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the detailed response. Here are my responses to the items above:

  • you must confirm that this account is used by one individual only - I confirm it will be used only by me
  • you must agree to avoid creating or directly editing articles related to your organization (requested edits will still be permitted) - I will not edit articles related to the organization directly and will only make changes through requested edits
  • you must agree to abide by the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use and disclose any paid relationship in accordance with the paid contributor policy - I agree to abide by these policies
  • you must indicate what areas of Wikipedia you intend to edit in the future - I intend to edit articles related to the neighbourhood in which I live (local infrastructure/organizations/politics)

Please let me know if you need any further information from me, and thanks again for your consideration.

Great! Thank you all! KateRaven132 (talk) 20:20, 10 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
