Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because of the following problems: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

You may request a change of username and unblock if you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization. To do this, first search Special:CentralAuth for available usernames that comply with the username policy. Once you have found an acceptable username, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked. In your reasons, you must:

  • Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement.
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Alexf(talk) 19:49, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Kepstrum/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Requested username:

Request reason:

I am an employee of Kepstrum inc. responsible for our customer experience, at the request of my employer I was asked to write some wikipedia pages so that people could learn about us and the type of engineering software we sell, and engineering tools we use to develop. I apologize I had not realized the username policy specifically disallowed usernames that indicated I represent the business, I chose it when initially asked to write this and began exploring how to navigate wikipedia. As for the article I was drafting itself I was also in the process of trying to figure out the wikipedia format, and had thought the sandbox was for drafting. I now know better! I also indicated on my talk page that I am a payed contributor, aside from this I was still in the process of trying to make the text as impartial and fact based as possible and was doing my best to mirror the format of wikipedia articles I found on similar businesses. If I am unblocked I plan to make articles to explain the particular type of stress-life model we use, the history of Kepstrum's founding, other tools we have developed like the test systems Kepstrum used to make, the public projects we're part of and the patent we hold for the risk reduction methodology our founder developed. I intended to do this without subjective and marketing language like "leading developer" or anything of the sort, just indicating what exists and what happened.

Decline reason:

Sandboxes can be used to make drafts, but they are not private, nor are they immune from deletion processes. All edits to every page on Wikipedia appear in the Recent Changes feed(though some pages are harder to find than others). If you don't want people to see what you are doing, don't put it on Wikipedia. Regarding the block itself, we're going to want to see edits in areas unrelated to your conflict of interest, demonstrating your knowledge of relevant Wikipedia guidelines about contributing and notability, before permitting you to indirectly contribute about your company or its field. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell the world about themselves and what they do, this is a place to summarize what independent reliable sources say about a topic, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of notability(such as a notable company). If your only goal here is to edit about your company and its field, this is the end of the road; if you want to be a general contributor, please tell what topics you might edit about. I am declining your request. Feel free to show your superiors this message; they have given you an impossible task. 331dot (talk) 08:03, 22 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Only one unblock request at a time, please. Your request will be considered when an admin has time to review it.

Please be aware that a company is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. All topics on Wikipedia must be notable to deserve inclusion. In the case of a company, the notability criteria for companies and organizations must be met. This means that the company must have already received significant coverage from multiple reliable and independent sources.

We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself. Company-authored sources cannot establish its notability - only third-party coverage can do that. As well, it is an inherent conflict of interest to write about your employer. Even if your company is proven to be notable enough for inclusion, the subject of an article has no right of ownership or control over its contents. The article will only reflect what reliable third parties have chosen to publish about it, and it will be expressly in a plainly factual and neutral point of view. Please inform your superior(s) that they have put in an awkward position. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 23:44, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
