Spring Washers

Spring washers, also known as disc springs, are a type of mechanical fastener that is designed to prevent fastener loosening or failure due to vibration, thermal expansion, or other dynamic loads. Spring washers work by applying a spring force to the joint, which helps to maintain a constant tension between the fastener and the substrate. Spring washers are typically thin, circular discs with a slightly conical shape that provide a spring force when compressed. The shape and size of the washer depends on the specific application and the requirements for load capacity, deflection and fatigue life. Spring washers can be made from a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, bronze, and plastic where strength, corrosion resistance, and temperature resistance are major criteria. Spring washers are easy to install and can be used with most types of bolts, screws, and nuts. They are also relatively inexpensive and can be used in a wide range of applications, making them a versatile and cost-effective fastening solution. They are widely used in a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, construction, and manufacturing, and are available in a range of sizes and materials to meet different application requirements.
