Hi Abbey. I'm introducing myself as part of a course requirement. I'm not entirely sure I am doing this correctly, however. Were you as ignorant I most of us beginning WIKI editors, or did you have prior experience?

great start

Hi, Kjatczak. I reviewed your work - nice edits. Good job. How are you thinking about a global component for your work on policy and education? I look forward to seeing what you do! Prof.Vandegrift (talk) 03:29, 11 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

User page feedback

[edit]

Hello. I would love to hear more about why you are interested in researching worldwide education policies on your user page. These articles look like they could use some help from a global perspective. I look forward to seeing what you do with this topic. Good luck with your edits! --Locke Perkins (talk) 06:11, 12 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering specifically what about education, or which section of education you want to focus on. Something that needs more study is special education, specifically in the earlier years. Another thing you could look at would be standardized testing, or the use of technology in the schools. Proposal Feedback

[edit]

Cleaning up the existing links (and deleting information that doesn’t have links) are important steps that I would recommend doing first. This way, you know what’s left of the article that’s valuable and it could alleviate some of the issues with making a neutral point of view. It is possible that some of the most problematic sentences won’t need to be edited and kept, but instead, deleted completely.

I think that adding to the program sections would be a place to spend most of your time (research permitting, of course). This would also help address the issue you talk about where there’s a comparison to systems of traditional education in the global south. By demonstrating that there are instances of OBE across the world, you can help create a more positive vision of education in the global south. Because of this, I'd highly recommend spending the majority of your time working on fixing up the program sections.

Best of luck!

A kitten for you!

[edit]

Hi, Kjatczak! You created a solid proposal and the sources you found look like they can accomplish what you have outlined in the proposal. I did a quick search for Latin America and did not find materials. Maybe you will come across them if you searched for articles that referenced 'international' or 'global' in relation to OBE. As you continue, keep careful track of sources that will help improve poor citation practices of the original article.

You are ready to start drafting your work in your sandbox. Great job!

Sources Comment

[edit]

Hi Kayla, I was wondering if I could have you look over my sources. I will be creating the Youth in Mongolia page and my sources relate to the following topics:Education, Employment, Health, Rural vs Urban Youth, Ethnicity and Westernization of Mongolian youth. I wasn't sure on the exact format, so on my User page I have listed the authors, year and article title to make my page less cluttered. I also included the full Wikipedia citations as well. Let me know what you think I should expand/improve on. Thank you! Brogers0922 (talk) 17:05, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Brogers0922[reply]

Hi Kayla,

My name is Sophia Ottomanelli, and I am one of Prof. V's students in her Global Youth Studies class. I was told to contact you about looking at my sources that I have on my user page. I am creating a new page which will be about Youth in Saudi Arabia. Let me know if you have any suggestions or comment. Thanks and have a nice weekend.

Hi Kayla! My name is Parker and I am a student in Dr. Vandegrift's course, Global Youth Studies. I am creating a page on Minors and the legality of cannabis. Within my article, I hope to compare and contrast the United States, Uruguay, and the Netherlands. I've provided eight sources for this project so far and I would appreciate it if you could take a look at them and let me know what you think. Also, please feel free to read through my proposal if you would like to learn more about my potential project. Have a great weekend! --Parkerstinski (talk) 05:23, 9 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Source Update

Hi Kayla, my name is Laura and I am also a student in Dr. V's Global Youth Studies course. I am currently trying to write a page on Youth in the Dominican Republic and just posted some resources I plan on using. In my article, I would like to specifically look at the education systems for youth along with the struggles for youth that grow up on the street. When I studied abroad in the capital city of Santo Domingo, I witnessed a lot of this. I would really appreciate you looking at my sources and providing me with any feedback or advice for the future of the project! Thanks and have a great weekend!
