August 2021[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates, or other materials from Wikipedia without adequate explanation, as you did at Chaos Is Me, you may be blocked from editing. - FlightTime Phone (open channel) 00:08, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please refrain from adding, removing or changing genres without providing a source or establishing a consensus on the article's talk page first. Genre changes to suit your own point of view are considered disruptive. Thank you. FMSky (talk) 16:39, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at Runaway Train (Soul Asylum song). Looks like your pep talk hasn't had the desired effect, Sergecross73. Robvanvee 08:56, 8 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Final warning - bad edits related to music genre[edit]

Hello, I'm Serge, and Admin here on Wikipedia. Im concerned about the edits you're largely making here. Most editors who do nothing but alter and tinker with music genre end up getting blocked from editing, because they tend to do nothing but get into disputes and WP:EDITWARS with other editors. So I encourage you to find a different point of interest. But if you insist on editing music genre all the time, you have to chance how you're doing it.

  • You need to only add sources that are directly stated by reliable sources.
    • See WP:REFB on how to actually add a source, as you have not been doing this.
    • See WP:RSMUSIC and WP:NOTRSMUSIC for sources that are generally considered usable and not usable. The "Rate Your Music" you keep alluding to in edit summaries is not a usable source because it violates WP:USERG.

If you have questions, let me know. But if you keep adding or changing genre without adding a source, your account is going to be blocked. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 01:02, 1 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Just another note - since I see you falling down the same path of doing nothing but getting into genre arguments and getting reverted by others - often times, not every genre is listed in the infobox at the top of the page. If there are multiple genre for a band/album/song, usually only the main/most commonly cited ones are listed there. Not every single one. So that's why you see that much if the time, less cited genre, or examples where a source says that there's only "parts or elements of a genre" are not used in the infobox. So again, I encourage you do so something's besides tinker with music genre all the time. Sergecross73 msg me 14:00, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for persistently, disruptively ignoring community concerns about verifiability voiced here on this page, and persistently refusing to provide reliable citations for challenged material.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ~ ToBeFree (talk) 09:07, 14 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The file File:Joseph Milward.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused personal photo. Out of scope.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
