This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Shaolin Kempo Karate, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.villarismartialarts.ca/school.html.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. A tag has been placed on Shaolin Kempo Karate requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 06:52, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Fredrick J. Villari requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

December 2010

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. ηoian ‡orever ηew ‡rontiers 07:29, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • The article had originally been deleted per community consensus; that's why it kept getting deleted after that. The claim about it being "the most widely practiced" is unsourced. If that were true, then third-party references would need to be added to back the claim. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 18:09, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly understand your frustration, but if I hadn't deleted it, another admin would have due to its having been deleted by consensus. The best course of action here is to bring it up on this page. I in the meantime will restore it to a user subpage for you: User:Kurtsayin/Shaolin Kempo Karate. This will allow you to work on it at your leisure on the site but off the article space. My suggestion would be to cite as many third-party sources as possible such as print media, regional or national electronic media or perhaps industry magazines. I hope this helps. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 19:54, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
OK, you're set. I restored an earlier, more complete version of the article which should save you some work. Good luck and please let me know if you need any further help. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 20:01, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Very much appreciated! I'll get to work on putting together some sources and such. I actually just ordered some Kung Fu Magazines from the 1980's concerning the development of the art so I should be able to source that in over the next two weeks or so. Thanks again! Kurtsayin (talk) 20:22, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to do it. My brother runs a karate studio, but he started it after I moved away so sadly, I never learned the art. He'd taken lessons with Chuck Norris' sparring partner and actually got to work out with Mr. Norris himself. He says he'd never been hit so hard in his life as when he'd gotten clobbered by ol' Chuck. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 23:17, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

True to his reputation, Chuck Norris is an incredible martial artist! I'm glad to hear someone survived a kick from him! lol. I am working my way through Shaolin Kempo Karate now, but have studied Judo and Tae Kwan Do since I was a kid, and I have found that the history on Shaolin Kempo Karate is really fragmented - mostly because people hate how wealthy the founder of the system got off of the business... to be fair, he has a really different attitude about things than nearly anyone else in the martial arts, but the system is incredible when it's really committed to. Thanks again! Kurtsayin (talk) 23:21, 10 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Congratuations on a truly well-done article. I was coming by to compliment you on the subpage and I see it's already been promoted. Marvelous job.  :) --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:14, 19 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you kindly! It was a lot of fun working on the article, and I appreciate the compliment! Thanks for giving me a shot! Kurtsayin (talk) 18:50, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
