Reliable sources[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm BlackcurrantTea. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Sam Hunt, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page.

Pagesix.com is not considered a reliable source. For more information, see its entry on Wikipedia:Reliable sources/Perennial sources and the general information on Wikipedia:Reliable sources. If you have questions, please visit the Teahouse, our help forum for new editors. Thank you. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 16:33, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

So the edit I made was actually supported by multiple news outlets. And, I believe I did add the citation. Here are the reference links backing the claim. I remember using pagesix and maybe another source.
https://people.com/country/sam-hunt-wife-hannah-lee-fowler-calls-off-divorce/
https://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/sam-hunt-pregnant-hannah-lee-fowler-are-rebuilding-relationship/
https://pagesix.com/2022/05/08/sam-hunts-pregnant-wife-hannah-lee-fowler-calls-off-divorce/
As a matter of fact, there are new updates regarding the couple's divorce that are not on Wikipedia. You can make the edits.
Fortunately, Wikipedia is not news, so there's no need to keep an article up-to-the-minute. It's also not celebrity gossip; not everything that everyone does, or that happens to them, belongs in the encyclopedia. It's important to be extra-careful when you edit articles about living and recently deceased people, because they can affect people's lives.

As I said, Pagesix.com is not considered a reliable source, so you shouldn't use it as a reference. There is consensus that People is reliable, and no consensus on whether Us Magazine is reliable, so People is the better choice. See the table on perennial reliable sources for more information.

One more thing: please sign your talk page posts using four tildes ~~~~. Even on your own talk page, you may have a conversation with more than one person, or more than one discussion at a time, and other people may be reading and not posting. When you sign your posts, it makes it clear who's written what. Thanks, BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:36, 12 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well explained, Thanks Leayta (talk) 07:07, 19 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.
