Possible topics for term project[edit]

1. Convective mixed layer Mixing in the planetary boundary layer (PBL) affects vertical distributions of air pollutants in the lower troposphere. Accurate representation of boundary layer mixing is important in simulating pollutant concentration. Currently, we have Mixed layer mainly describing mixed layer in the ocean with only one paragraph touching atmospheric boundary layer. There is also one short paragraph in Planetary boundary layer describing Convective planetary boundary layer. One possible topic for the term project could be convective mixed layer. Three major parts can be the mean characteristics, equations, model representations.

2. Urban boundary layer Synoptic and topographic forcings form a special urban boundary layer. The features of this boundary layer influences the transport of the excessive heat and pollution generated in urban areas. We have Urban heat island in wiki already, but no detailed discussion of the formation and features of urban boundary layer and the transport of urban plume. We can fill the gap here.

As I explained when I visited your class, AfC is meant for IPs and new users. What you should have done is move the article following the instructions at Help:How to move a page. I understand how easy it is to make this mistake, as it happens often. Once you submitted to AfC, the reviewer asked WikiProject Meteorology for their input (based on the highly technical nature of the article). Since that input wasn't forthcoming, I short-circuited that process. I'm glad that you write this article and I hope you continue to contribute to Wikipedia.
