Thank you.

The article Capital Teas has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article, which appeared to be about a real person, individual animal, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 19:09, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

      • Sorry, I still don't see how this subject meets the notability standards of WP:CORP. Of the sources you cite, #2 and #7 are local news items (#3 is the same as #2), #1 is a blog, one is a mere notation that the company opened a store in a mall, and none of the rest are actually articles about the company. WP:CORP specifically states: "[A]ttention solely from local media, or media of limited interest and circulation, is not an indication of notability; at least one regional, national, or international source is necessary." Also, the list of products sold sure sounds promotional. NawlinWiki (talk) 21:51, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
        • NawlinWiki: I appreciate your quick responses. I have removed the blog and other website from the references. I have also added an article from DC Foodies, which covers restaurants and shops in the DC/MD/VA area. While there are "local" references, some cover the region (mid-atlantic, DC/MD/VA) -- I would think that this qualifies as a region. Clearly, Capital Teas is not known worldwide, but in DC/MD/VA region, it is. I have also removed the products from the page. I don't see how its a problem, just stating a fact, like Mcdonald's selling burgers. However, I understand your point and have taken your hint to remove the section. Does this suffice to be moved to an official article? Please make that so or tell how I can if that is the case. Your help and dedication is much appreciated.
          • This just doesn't strike me as a company that belongs in a general reference encyclopedia. If you repost it, I won't speedy-delete it, but I will list it for a deletion discussion at WP:AFD, and I will be surprised if there's a consensus to keep it. • NawlinWiki: I mean, you say what needs to be edited/added -- it happens...and now you say it "doesn't strike you as a company that belongs in a general reference encyclopedia". Pretty frustrating as could imagine. I feel like a lot of old paper encyclopedia companies would've said many wikipedia articles didn't belong in their editions, and they would obviously be wrong. You act as if it is not a real or a good enough company to have an article on wikipedia. There is nothing incorrect about the article written, it doesn't promote, and it contains several verifiable references. Again, Capital Teas is not a national or international corporation, but in the Mid-Atlantic (DC, MD, VA) area- it is known well. Can you reconsider not listing it for deletion discussion after I resubmit?

Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not replace pages with blank content, as you did with this edit to Capital teas, as this is confusing to readers. The page's content has been restored for now. If there is a problem with the page, it should be edited or reverted to a previous version if possible; if you think the page should be removed entirely, see further information. Thank you. Capital teas

[edit]

I have removed the {{prod}} tag from Capital teas, which you proposed for deletion. I'm leaving this message here to notify you about it. If you still think the article should be deleted, please don't add the {{prod}} template back to the article. Instead, feel free to list it at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion. Thanks!
