Hi LittleWink, instead of linking to Maiorana (genus) and Maiorana (mammal) on the prehistoric life lists and Periptychidae page respectively, why not make Maiorana a DAB and link directly? 2A02:C7F:38FC:A300:B113:BFC1:95DD:6AFA (talk) 20:08, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hi. Disambiguation pages are not articles, so they are usually not linked. But I placed a hatnote at the top of Maiorana for the genus. Cheers LittleWink (talk) 11:17, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- Oh ok, do you think Maiorana should be a DAB instead? I thought they only needed to be split out if there's so many that the DAB is unwieldy. As it stands, all but one entry are stub articles and one (Daniel) points to a redirect without it's own article. Thanks 2A02:C7F:38FC:A300:7228:8BFF:FECE:54C9 (talk) 12:24, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- You're right about splitting (see MOS:DABNAME). But in this case there is only 1 non-name entry, which also doesn't have much coverage (in online sources), so I don't think the page should be a disambiguation page and the current form with the hatnote is sufficient. Munster Lass
Hi Little Wink: Why did you move Munster Lass (ship) to Munster Lass? Did you check the meaning of the name before making the move? Munster Lass is the name of a traditional folk fiddle tune. Now someone looking for the tune will be mis-directed. Is that a good thing? I now have to create a new disambiguation page mentioning both the tune and the ships, and move the ships page back. Just because Wikipedia doesn't have an article on the tune does not mean that the WP article is all that exists in the world on the topic. The signpost is not the terrain. Thanks. Letter-number combination disambiguation pages
I see you have created redirect pages to one of two Italian ships which have used the same pennant/hull number. This is confusing and I think wrong. These redirects should be converted to dab pages and placed in the above category Lyndaship (talk) 14:05, 22 September 2022 (UTC)
