Links to external sites[edit]

Dear Livingat45north, welcome to Wikipedia! I can see from your contributions that you have some expertise in speech and language therapy. That's great! There are many pages out there in need of an expert's eye. One of the things that you will need to be mindful of when editing wikipedia, however, is a policy called WP:EL or "External Links". This policy clearly states that unless it is appropriate to the page, for instance List_of_speech_recognition_software which is a fine place to list the link out to Auditory Sciences or Speechgear, you are not permitted to add external links to commercial sites. I am not sure whether or not you work for Speechgear (it seems likely), but if so you should also read WP:COI which covers conflicts of interest. In the meantime I will be making changes to the edits you have made in other articles to comply with these policies - please don't take it personally, it happens a lot! Best wishes, --PaulWicks (talk) 13:48, 14 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
