This change "Another candidate would have been the school at Ashby-de-la-Zouch, founded by Henry Hastings, 3rd Earl of Huntingdon (to whom Vanbrugh claimed to be related). It was also not uncommon for boys to be sent to study at school away from home, or with a tutor." should be removed because it is

Pure speculation
The blood relationship between Vanbrugh and the 7th Earl of Huntingdon is cousinship between their grandmothers and so nothing to do with the Earl who founded the school. While it is true Vanbrugh and the school-founding Earl share common descent from various historical figures the most recent was Henry Duke of Lancaster who died in 1348!
