In the unlikely event that those statements are true, the only one which asserts importance is the monument. — Arthur Rubin (talk) 12:05, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In Malta, "Carmelo Caruana" is also the name of a major shipping company, a leading politician and an elderly man (not this Mr. Carauna) who assaulted a neighbor[1], so this makes determining notability tricky. An English language Google News archive search does turn up these references, however:
  • "Band clubs association celebrations". The Malta Independent. 1 October 2006. Retrieved 6 September 2012.
  • Castelain (22 December 2002). "Mro John Galea conductor of the King's Own Band". The Times of Malta. Retrieved 6 September 2012.
  • Henrickson, Paul (27 December 2005). "Band concerts - a family affair". The Times of Malta. Retrieved 6 September 2012.
None of these is sufficiently strong to create notability, but they lead me to believe this person is probably notable if one looks harder, especially in the Maltese language press.
There is also a created Maltese language biography of the same person created in 2006 and never deleted:
The creator of the Maltese article is no longer active on mt.wikipedia but was formerly very active there and presumably somewhat content-savvy even if they didn't include any references. That person, User:Tony Sammut, also occasionally edited en.wikipedia as recently as this year.

The Wikipedia Malta article is unreferenced, makes you wonder about the vigilance of its editors. WWGB (talk) 13:01, 6 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
