July 2010

Removed the name of SSG Thomas Anderson, 2d Bn, 7th SF Group from the names of DSC recipients for Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq) Reason: No source was cited. A search of all reliable databases does not return the name of SSG Thomas Anderson as a recipient of the DSC. No news stories can be found reporting this award. A simple Google source will show that all other names on this list can be linked to stories announcing the award of the DSC.Lvncenturion (talk) 17:14, 29 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added SGT Christopher Corriveau, HHC, 2d Bn, 505th Parachute Infantry to list for actions on August 26,2007 with DSC awarded by President Bush on May 22, 2008. I believe that SGT Corriveau was previously listed together with SGT Eric Moser as both were awarded DSC's on the same day by President Bush for actions in Samarra, Iraq on August 26, 2007. It appears that SGT Corriveau's citation was edited to substitute the name of SGT Bryant Crater, A Co, 3d Bn, 75th Ranger Regiment, but the source citation was not edited and pointed to an article describing President Bush's visit to the 82d Airborne Division. February 2019

Hello. Your recent edit to Distinguished Service Cross (United States) appears to have added the name of a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. My intent was to add three recipients, one for the Enduring Freedom Table, and two for the Iraqi Freedom Table, I did not edit the notables listings. I have sources for the three new entries, but haven't added them yet. I see that on the new page, almost all of the Iraq and Afghanistan recepients have disappeared. This is the first time that I have used the Visual Editor, so I'm not sure if that change was something that I did or someone else.

No, it wasn't your edits or use of Visual Editor, it was me. I reverted your edits and removed a bunch of other names per WP:NLIST. Wikipedia only comprises lists of other Wikipedia articles; other notable entries. Wikipedia is not a sourced list of every person who was ever awarded that medal. That's not our intent. DSC

The tables for DSC awards for Iraq and Afghanistan have been included on this page for at least 14 years. I have added new recipients over the years and alerted editors when bogus entries were made. I have no idea who initially built this page and have no idea if that person is still active.

I think that those tables were appropriate to recognize the valorous acts of these soldiers and provided a verifiable record of this award over the past 18 years of combat. The recent awards were upgrades as a result of a Congressional mandated review of all valor awards since 2001. Apparently, the someone doesn't like, probably someone who has never visited this page or haven't done for a very long time.

But, I will never darken your door again and therefore have no need to inform myself of your "rules"
