PCA[edit]

Hi M1CH4EL. Thanks for your edits to Presbyterian Church of Australia. You might be interested to cast an eye over other articles in Category:Presbyterian Church of Australia and Category:Presbyterianism in Australia or associated with Wikipedia:WikiProject Calvinism. I'm a sporadic editor, but if you are editing in this corner I'm sure we'll cross paths occasionally. Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 02:22, 4 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Presbyterianism in Australia chart[edit]

Thanks for putting together that great timeline of Presbyterianism in Australia! Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 08:40, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Blarney, my pleasure. Have since noticed that there are also a number of single congregation denominations. Probably will not include them, but if you know of any others, as well as some crossovers, please let me know. At some stage, I'll extend it back to 1788 (that seems quite logical). If you have some info on that, I'll get to work on the file. In fact, now that I am thinking about it, we probably could develop some kind of definition about what denominations should be included on such a timeline. Perhaps those with the name 'Presbyterian' as well as those who hold to the WCF (such as the Australian Free Church). PS Have you seen my church history timeline, created a few days before the Pressie one. M1CH4EL (talk) 03:09, 19 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for that link M1CH4EL. Our definition of 'Presbyterian' should match up with the article on the same. Probably the best sources for pre-1901 are Rowland Ward's The Bush Still Burns and Religious Groups in Australia, both of which I have copies of. Another good one is Preacher Politician Patriot: A Life of John Dunmore Lang by D. W. A. Baker from Melbourne University Press. Maybe over the summer I'll have a chance to mine then for enough info to create some stub articles, but if you have a chance to do so, by all means, go ahead. Blessings on God's work at CCPC! List of Presbyterian denominations in Australia[edit]

Regarding the list of Presbyterian churches in Australia and your proposed change, as discussed on my Talk page - I can see where you are coming from. But perhaps it would be good not to delete the continental Reformed churches prior to establishing a new page for Reformed churches in Australia, i.e. rather than deletion of encyclopedic content that is important, moving it to another and more appropriate page, as you suggest. Perhaps a broader page is needed, identifying Reformed churches in Australia, and Presbyterian churches could arguably also fall under that umbrella.
