Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, DWA Inc, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Surprise Me! book, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! ‡ Єl Cid, Єl Caɱ̩peador ᐐT₳LKᐬ 20:13, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Surprise Me! book, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ‡ Єl Cid, Єl Caɱ̩peador ᐐT₳LKᐬ 20:13, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, DWA Inc. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. ‡ Єl Cid, Єl Caɱ̩peador ᐐT₳LKᐬ 20:36, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or promotion. From your contributions, this seems to be your only purpose. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may request an unblock by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 22:42, 26 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I understand that I was blocked for COI and because it comes across as promotional or advertisement. I have reviewed the page that was blocked, and am re-reviewing other examples of that type of page that have successfully been posted to Wikipedia, and am creating an encyclopediac version of the information. In the future, to avoid any appearance of a COI or other actions contrary to Wikipedia's guidelines and mission, I'll submit new page creation suggestions and edits - for anyone to whom I have any kind of connection - through the talk pages or articles for creation process. hank you for understanding... I will resolve the issue so this does not happen again! DWA Inc (talk) 16:41, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Before you can be unblocked you need to change your username to a non-promotional name unconnected to your company or the book. You can do this by asking on this page. Because of your COI I am doubtful of your ability to write an objective article on what, in any case, appears to be a non-notable subject. You need to show in any future appeal how you would meet our policies. Just Chilling (talk) 18:10, 29 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

MA322 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Re: Username - I understand that my unblock review was declined because of my name; I didn't understand from the initial block that I needed to change my username. I would like to change my name; the denying admin suggested I can do so by asking on this page, and I would like to do so - may I change to MA322? I have checked, and it does not appear to be in use. How I would meet policies: I understand the reason I was blocked for COI and because it comes across as promotional material. That was not my attempt, and I understand I was in error. In the future, to avoid any appearance of a COI or other things that would fall outside of Wikipedia's encyclopaedia-like culture, I will avoid direct edits and direct page creation (instead disclosing any potential COI and also utilizing the talk pages or articles for creation process to have such suggestions reviewed by other community members). I have understood that I have made an error. And I commit to running potential edits and page creations through the appropriate channels for another party to "okay", to ensure I do not trespass again. I have read through the guide to appealing blocks, as well as the policies and guidelines, COI, and advertising/promotional material. My understanding is that the appropriate way to handle adding information I believe is within Wiki guidelines, is to submit through the above-mentioned channels so others can review and offer edits to ensure everything is within the proper guidelines. I will avoid anything promotional or appearing promotional. I will make constructive contributions unrelated to anything potentially COI, so as to establish credibility in my willingness to comply with the guidelines. As a start, I would like to participate in copy editing pages requiring such, as noted on the Community Portal. I enjoy Wikipedia, and I truly do understand the error I made. Please reconsider unblocking my account. DWA Inc (talk) 15:04, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

As you advise you have read both the COI and how to make requested edits to pages you have a COI with guidance then I'm happy to unblock you, please be aware that if you want to create a page you have a COI on you should do this through the articles for creation process and do so very carefully. Any return to editing that appears to be done with a COI is likely to end with another lengthy or indefinite block. Amortias (T)(C) 19:26, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
