Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, MSEisenhower1875. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. People with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, see the conflict of interest guideline and frequently asked questions for organizations. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, its competitors, or projects and products you or they are involved with;
  • instead, propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing, and autobiographies. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 21:40, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation[edit]

I am looking to edit this page. How do I get someone to help me make sure this page is in line with Wikipedia's guidelines.MSEisenhower1875 (talk) 23:30, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Reuse of citations : You cannot use ibid/op cit etc for your citations. Here is a bit talking about how to reuse citations within an article Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Repeated_citations

The main problem you are going to run into is that all of your sources are primary sources, affiliated sources. An article should be based on secondary impartial sources. Quoting the foundation, about the foundation, is marketing, not encyclopedia. Gaijin42 (talk) 20:17, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Milton S. Eisenhower Foundation with this edit. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. Dat GuyTalkContribs 20:37, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Resue of Citations[edit]

I apologize. I did not know I could not use Ibid and Op cit. I will remove them. How can I get help with writing this page so that it is in compliance with Wikipedia standards. I am not trying to do anything against Wikipedia standards.2601:143:8002:BAA6:ECFF:8EF0:C3E8:6A78 (talk) 20:44, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

start here WP:Everything_you_need_to_know.

Your article unfortunately has several problems right out the gate with WP:NOTABILITY, WP:WEIGHT, WP:Third-party_sources WP:COI etc. You would be much better servered to start out with a very small article that covers just he basics and expand it slowly. As the way it is now its likely to get all deleted when people notice its all sourced to the foundation itself. Gaijin42 (talk) 21:54, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
