Oxford comma
[edit]Your recent edits to the Gaels article largely consisted of the unnecessary forcing of the serial, or Oxford, comma. Either style is valid and you must not make changes from one to another unless this is actively required to clarify a potential ambiguity, per the examples given at MOS:SERIAL, or to maintain internal consistency within that article. Please do not make such changes based on your personal preference alone. Mutt Lunker (talk) 10:48, 6 November 2020 (UTC)
Minor edits
[edit]Hi Malfatta! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. Quotes
[edit]Please dont change quotes and dont add or remove commas unless this is how the source cites it --FMSky (talk) 03:09, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hello @FMSky,
- My apologies! My brain was on auto-pilot looking for grammatical errors to correct, & I lapsed in considering the actual context of the content that I was reading; as I read through the page, I focused too heavily on correcting the text, rather than fully thinking about what I was reading.
- Thank you for taking the time to let me know, & I’ll be sure to edit more cognizantly next time! I’m still very much a novice at Wikipedia, & appreciate any feedback/guidance on proper editing.
- Best regards, 〜 Malfatta (talk) 13:17, 12 April 2024 (UTC)
